My small gripes

Hello!

I have been playing the game a while now, and these small gripes... whilst trivial to some keep frustrating me. I understand there are more important things to concentrate on but I just wanted to raise them and well, no harm in that right?

• Can I have an option for real world clock to be displayed please?
• Please don't wipe the message I was typing when you start to craft or zone
• Allow me to move the UI for NPC chat etc. Sometimes it's (z-order) below my chat log sometimes above.
• Can we get tabs for different chats please (ala ffxi) say/party/ls/etc
• Add an option so that once you press a macro on a control pad, the macro bar disappears after using it (so very annoying!). I wouldn't even mind a /closemacrobar command I can put at the end of all my macros!
• When you look for auto translate and can't find it, the cursor goes back to the beggining of the word, not the end.
• Be able to Browse other players whilst running

My macro bar displays when I hold the trigger down and hides when I release it.

I've never had any issues with it not going away.

Just want to add one.

• Make it possible to restrict skills on the action bar from being activated by anything other than 1 through 0.

Why? I'm mainly a keyboard player. I only ever intentionally use skills with these keys. I'm tired of slight mouse bumps causing skills to become highlighted, turning "Enter" into "use a skill accidentally" rather than "auto-attack mob". Contextual keys, do not want.

My macro bar displays when I hold the trigger down and hides when I release it.

I've never had any issues with it not going away.

There are 2 modes, one like you just described where it is only displayed when you hold the button down and one where pressing the button turns it on/off.

What I want (sorry if I explained badly) is the possibility of pressing button to bring the macro bar up, scrolling across like the action bar, press confirm button and macro bar disappears.

The first way where the macro bar is only on while you have the button down is fine for keyboard users as you can hold the button down then decide which number to press but for gamepad users it's a pain to cycle through to the one you want; it's not a smooth process.

I'm pretty sure what I'm suggesting was how it was done in FFXI, so maybe I just still need to adjust but manually turning the macro bar off kinda annoys me, especially when I'm in a panic! I don't use macros t the moment for this one reason.

Oh and Starlord, I know it's the generic response but maybe a post like this just might get noticed and some things be put into 2.0. You never know right?

Ya I've never had an issue with holding down the left or right trigger either, that's how I played it in xi as well.
The seperate chat bars, can't you just create them yourself? Or do you want more tabs, since you can fully customise the tabs yourself you can make those tabs if you want to, my issue is on the game pad there is no way of changing without using the mouse.

Rest I agree, especially the typing and gathering / crafting, it was a lot worst so I think I'm happy that it wasn't like it used to be and being removed on every action

you can have four different tabs already in two differen't chat zones two for each zone go into the menu and configuration and I believe it's either Log or chat options

I was unaware of the game clock coming, that's cool. Maybe it really is just me then with the macros! If no one else has the same issue as me then maybe I will just have to bite the bullet on that one! It would be nice to have an option though

Thanks for the advice, I have tried working with this but I don't have much screen space on my laptop so several tabs on one bar would be the best thing, for me personally at any rate. I also agree with Eruantien, there should be some way to toggle between chat tabs on the gamepad; maybe the button that is used to go to status bar or the button used for the inventory/chocobo etc widget could toggle through.
