I would prefer if they kept the really skimpy outfits to underarmor slots. Then at least I can look cool while I'm changing jobs!

But on a serious note, as a female, this armor does not offend me. It's a videogame. Of course there are going to be REALLY revealing outfits for both men and women alike. It's not like it has really good stats or anything. It's simply an aesthetic piece of gear that you can choose to wear if you'd like to. You're not being forced to wear it.

I would agree that this is a problem IF...

1. This was comparably one of the best pieces of armor in the game, thus forcing you to choose between wearing it or having worse stats.
2. Most of the female armor was incredibly skimpy or 'objectifying'.

This is not a good piece of armor, and most of the armor is tasteful. This is the only one that's really skimpy. I don't see this as being a trend in the future.

And before you think I'm not serious, I assure you I am. How often do you see men offended by other men in skimpy suits? Never.
Now see how often we women get offended by such things, even in video games? Very often, and for good reason. Just look at "Tropes vs. Women" on Kickstarter. She got funded 158k $ because this is a real world problem that needs to stop.

No #1: Sexism is about adopting a different standard between individuals based on their gender. Its not about who is offended or not. Both gender gets equally revealing gear ? Then i do not see any sexism in the sole appearance of the gear. Maybe you are refering to other people's behaviour around you ? Please calrify.

No #2: A popular campaign, whatever the amount of money it has is not relevant to this case, nor can it establish facts about FFXIV.

No #3: I would like you to point me where is the misoginy in FFXIV. I dont think you know what that word actually means, but i'll concede if you can provide clear cut, irrefutable examples of it.

Keep in mind this is an MMORPG. As oposed to single player games with fixed character building, your character is a blank slate here. You are gonna give it personality and proper behaviour. If I don't get a swimsuit I'll flip my shit and complain until you give it to me, but give me an armor set, that's basically a re-skinned bikini with cloth tassels and I'll flip my shit about sexism, how men are all pigs wanting to look at pixellated prostitute equivalents and how evil SE is for giving me something I wanted in a different form.

Long story short, Neomarl is one of those players that are unhappy no matter what SE gives them.

I like all this talk about exploitative attire... yet the person primarily complaining about it is playing a miqo'te, the most exploitive of the races (I'm lumping mithra in on that, too). Female only (until 2.0), suggestive emotes, second skimpiest (yet most suggestive) underwear, least covering armor (this is mostly mithra)... and they're complaining about the sultriness of two sets of armor? I don't see anything hypocritical about that one bit.

That said, the armor is rather tame compared to other new MMOs. Remember, most new MMOs also toss in such superfluous mechanics as breast physics and loosely flowing attire.
