Relic isn't for everyone and if you can't fork over at least 10 mil for materia then it isn't for you. (Coming from someone with 500k) If you don't want to pay the 1.5 mil or 2 mil per materia then wait for the prices to drop cause I've seen the 2 mil materia drop to 1 mil from time to time not to mention as people get relic the price will go back to normal.

If you want this game to be run by npcs and quest rewards then I suggest you play a single player game.
I think what he meant is its not fair that some weapon gets to use common materias example manathirst for MNK, while the others aren't. If all materia shares the same rate, prices among weapons would be somewhat same.

you don't have to lecture me about what it takes to get relic. i have two, and i'm not stopping there. as far as not seeing RMT, you must not get out much. maybe i'll toss some screenshots your way, considering you're on the same server. you also don't seem to understand MMO economics. you don't seem to understand how this quest encourages inflation and how inflation hurts the economy. and finally, you don't seem to understand how making the materia purchasable via NPC works to curb inflation, both artificial and natural, by removing currency from circulation.

i listed 500k as a suggested price, as 500k for tier IV is actually still more expensive than any of this junk was going for before relic- and yet still much more fair than some people paying 20k per materia, others paying 200k, and the rest paying 1.5-2m per. maybe you haven't been keeping track, though? it would still be expensive to double meld most relic, and you're not just redistributing the gil. all the playerbase must do to make sure their materia sells rather than the NPC materia is to list it at 498k.

anyone who hasn't noticed a general economic inflation even outside of relic needs to pay closer attention. it's happening, and it's only going to get worse. other MMOs (which i won't name so this thread doesn't get locked for a stupid reason) have plenty of built-in money sinks designed to help remove currency from the economy. this is necessary whenever there is any way in the game to generate currency from thin air, be it quests, leves, mobs, etc.

this game doesn't really have a good system for that. relic is a prime opportunity to implement one. just assuming on average each meld costs 1m in materia (from npc) and they get their double in about 5 attempts, that's ~35m gil PER PLAYER removed from the game *forever* if they go for all 7. long term, that can only help. additionally- relic stays expensive, stays uncommon at the very least, and the system will no longer outright punish certain players just for favoring a class that needs heavens' eye materia rather than mind IV.

i say all this as a player who already has relic and will get more either way. it's called objectivity. strange concept, i'm sure. next time try to actually read what i'm saying and think for a second before leaping to straw man arguments, though.

those prices are ALL player determined, SE did not set the price, so it doesnt work the way your thinking

and none are really rarer then others...., rarity is again determined by the players willingness to bind certain pieces of gear to get them out there, not by SE

Who determines what piece turns into what and at what rate?

Who determines at what rate the materials needed for those pieces can be farmed?

If you have been spiritbonding, you'd know that Heaven's Eye IV is extremely rare compare to like MND IV or Manathirst IV, Then you add that to 2 class that needed it. Huge demands, no supply.

Hmmm 40k per leve, still requires 1k leves for 40m, and since there are ppl saying they sunk 150m into this that makes it about 4k leves give or take. If you use even 5 minutes for per leve you are still looking at 334 hours of running leves. Moreso if you consider the fact that most ppl cant kill off a leve in 5 minutes. Then there is real life to consider, something some ppl on here have.

So I can see being poor as a very good reason.

Being poor isnt a good reason and thats because making gil is so easy in this game. Players need to stop crying and go out and farm its that simple. Players just want things easier for little to no effort put into it. The more you farm the more items you can add to your retainer and sell, now if you dont farm than yes you are poor. You can make gear or buy gear and spirit bond it and than turn said gear into materia and make a pretty penny.

    i do spirit bind, alot

and yes, the stat materia are more common it seems, BUT none of the weapons require the stats for the relic...so thats besides the point

the fact remains if you are spiritbinding your own materia, how many classes take that materia is irrelevent when it comes to getting them

if you are buying it, supply and demand, SE does not control that as much as the players do

in the end, the biggest issue with materia is some slots, people just do not spiritbind as much as others(jewely being the most common id think)

you can do 8 leves a day, at the highest tier, and easily earn 100k off drops + rewards, if not more, and thats less then an hours work.

so being broke is a choice, and you gotta be really lazy to be there or spend way too much on other stuff

    WHM relic requires MND materia
    MNK relic requires MP materia

I am not complaiining here since i am making materia for money but you can't say that is fair if you compare to DRG/BRD/PLD relic. Because one has to work mroe than the other, and i spiritbond every single slot possible for heaven's eye/savage might in the last 2 weeks.
