always looking for good people.
Deal - Breaker: World immersion. The world needs to pull us in, fascinate us, make our journey special. The world need to be breathing with life, the players need to have freedom to engage a variety of activities and have the opportunity to play our character the way we want to play it (anytime!). I want to feel like I'm part of it, not just a player farming quest and tough fights for a collection of items.
Sub-deal-breaker: It's actually hard to enjoy something when you can't participate in it. Half the time, I can't find a party in my limited play time. That sucks, really bad. Hopefully the content finder feature will be as promising as Yoshi-P state it will be... and people actually use it (not like the search feature) instead of shouting in town.
[Don't get started on the "oh another one whining about finding a party", not everyone can always log at peak times. HALF the time I'm off peak time and I don't have the luxury of waiting 1~2hrs to get a party ready.]
2.0 sounds promising, I can't wait to see more in August and experience it next year. I hope it keeps all of its promises.
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
Open world NM's with rare drops worth camping.
I know I'm in the minority here but this is what i love to do. Its what i spent most of my time on in XI and ever since i stepped foot in the game i had hoped there would be a similar experience. I just love finding that rare mob and killing it for that rare drop. Also they obviously wouldn't be like they are now with 5min repops. This would be the deal breaker for me. I tend to play alot solo and duo with a friend so this type of content is very important to me and a little competition from other players is nice also. Nothing like the thrill of a claim. This type of content is easily designed and i see no reason to leave this out.
i have a few words for you shayla, and this may solve alot of your problems
NO MORE COOKIES!
also, onslaught in the morning was like 90% euro players......(well morning for me) so we do exist if you meet the requrements to run stuff with us

The reason you can't find a party is because there is no incentive to complete content you've already completed. especially if that content is tedious.Deal - Breaker: World immersion. I personally want to see mechanics implemented to help and provide incentive for higher level players to help lower level players. we want a big sense of community, but when it comes down to it everyone wants the loot. helping a lowbie with a quest could net a moderate number of seals based on the original level of the quest. (IE: help a WHM with the regen NM, get 200 seals)
I'd also like to see something other than materia for increasing potency at the highest level. SBing is expensive. or at least drastic improvements to the system.
it also doesn't seem right that a level 50 crafter, completely naked with the crappiest tools in the world has the same exact chance to meld as a level 50 crafter that has dedicated a lot of time and effort to getting the best gear and tools.
I equate this to working a 9-5 job. earning money. and then having to go to a pachinko parlor to 'buy' clothes. 'oh, darn. I just lost again. guess i'm stuck in my skivvies again. back to square one'
this is a gross exaggeration because it's really not that bad. but compared to the merit system which was easy to use, and benefits snowballed, and if you 'lost progress' it was a choice and not random.
In addition to what Onisake just said, the bigger issue which still is to fix, but that will not really depend on the devs' will, is the lack of a decent population. Only a successful 2.0 launch could lead to an enhancement of the situation, but they have to manage to deliver a ground-breaking - no pun related to Dalamud - new client...Deal - Breaker: World immersion. You don't need some crappy meme comic to explain it. It's not funny.
Being able to sell things on the wards (or equivalent service) without having to go through my retainer to do so (check item price ahead of time -> trade item to retainer -> add to retainer's bazaar -> place retainer in ward).
The only other thing that would be a dealbreaker would be some sort of fundamental game engine issue that has little realistic chance of being "fixed" after 2.0 goes live.
For pretty much anything else, I'd be willing to hold on a bit to wait for a fix.
