Firstly, I just like creating characters...but as was already stated, there are also families that play together. My sister and I played FFXI together...but we couldnt afford 2 accounts...though it was nice to be on the same server.

Yeah, I have my main...but being a lalafell gets tiring sometimes and I just wanna be my cat girl

No I'm not a masochist nor do I feel like spending money on multiple character slots. It just makes things more like a fantasy version of the real world if we have one avatar to represent ourselves just like we only have one body in real life. We cannot log out and change our character if the current job/body doesn't suit us. We follow a path that we find interesting and suits us. Also roleplayers generally only roleplay one character until that character dies off or they start a new roleplay session.

Serious note:
I hope SE doesn't over look all the exploits that can be done with 8 chars on a server. Inventory, community, retainers, etc...

Also, don't know why you guys banned Lyndis from making this thread previously, it was on topic of a "general discussion" if anything ban the people not talking about the topic itself(posting my little pony).

They are making money off it so who cares (unless you are a Legacy member but then you have earned that for being a loyal fan). $15.00 a month for an unlimited account but not everyone will pay that when they have an option to save a few bucks. Though as you said for the extra inventory space some will pay the extra $2 or $3, though I could see a quick fix to the issue where you won't have an over abundant amount of space available. Link all the retainers to the account and not to each individual character, aka a shared stash. Whether you are on Bob the Builder or Carpenter Bill when you go to call the retainer it will be the same ones you already have. Thus eliminating alot of that extra space also remember they will be cutting down inventory quite a bit in 2.0

Also why not have the ability to have multiple characters if you want them? Some people like to play more than one character on the same server, or different servers. The option to do what you want is nice.

Yet in XIV your inventory gets filled with unnecessary crap after even one session of grinding it's actually worse management than XI ever had.

Between capped native inventory, Mog Sack and Satchel, I have zero inventory problems even with gear swapping, and I played all of the mages ontop of Corsair.

Well yes, at the end of a grind I wind up with a lot of crap in my inventory as well. I salvage what I can and NPC sell the rest, problem solved.

Another inventory problem in FFXIV is the fact that you can't really organize it very well. The auto-stack sometimes fails so I'll have like x3 of the same materia taking up space in my inventory and the only way to get them to stack up is by trading to my retainer and taking it out back into my inventory. =\

Thing is about having lots of chars. none of them will grow on you. In FFXI you grew with your char. You gave it personality.

Judging by a majority of your posts on the thread I'd have to say that you either changed your mind after having everyone disagree with you or are now just lying about that.
