roaming primals turn into instanced after engaged....... lame. just add /blockaidMore strongholds, more interesting maps, the roaming Primal Odin. Probably more. They aren't completely redesigning the open world maps for no reason. They will add more. However there will likely be more instanced content as well. Can't always focus on what you don't like. Appreciate the open world stuff we do get. I mean coming soon is another open world Stronghold.
Fish = 2.0
Zoidberg = FFXIV Players

I want loads of open world stuff. simply looking at practically every single zone being dead all the time. I could almost guarantee if i searched and found 50 people in southern thanalan i would find 49 them either at the iffy aether or in zaharak farming tapers.
so much of the map of the map is wasted. when you look at places like last hold or snake molt, how many people pass through those in any given day. the area around everlakes is huge but everyone there will be in the same 10 square yalms right outside av the rest of that zone is useless. get some open world stuff. bring eorzea to life
people seem to forget the instance content they enjoyed so much in ffxi.
Nyzul Isle Investigation
Dynamas, Limbus, Einherjar - instance zones
Salvage
bcnm
znm - boss monsters that are force pops, IE: trade a special item to a ??? spot on the ground and the NM pops.
complaining for nothing.. you guys have to stop worrying all the time.

ZNM was open world. you didnt get pulled into an instance when you poped a znm. people would often run by you in the middle of an armed gears fight or something. sky was open world. land in kirins lair right inthe middle of a stonega. beseiged, campaign, garrison, many mission related fights and stories all open world, etc.
basically why have a great big world of eorzea if nothing ever goes on out there. or you never see anything happen cos everyones magically whisked away to an instance.
I understand what you're saying, but those content is designed that way, and the most popular ones is the instance content.ZNM was open world. you didnt get pulled into an instance when you poped a znm. people would often run by you in the middle of an armed gears fight or something. sky was open world. land in kirins lair right inthe middle of a stonega. beseiged, campaign, garrison, many mission related fights and stories all open world, etc.

My point is that anyone can compare what is popular in other mmos, and the ones in ffxi that ppl seem to forget. but, not even I know for sure whats going to happen until I'm playing 2.0. Yoshi haven't given us that flood of information yet, so to me I dont understand the point of all these doom and gloom threads..
I doubt the devs gonna change anything now since we're so close to 2.0 release. it'll just cause more delay and it'll most likely hurt the fanbase that is waiting for 2.0
Exactly. Generally, if you were watching another LS fight an HNM, it meant one of three things:I often saw people fighting HNMs or open world NMs, but always when I had business with the same HNM or NM. For very valid design reasons, HNMs and other open-world content is invariably tucked away in the middle of nowhere, unlikely to be happened upon by other players. So in reality, quite often open world content does not, in fact, add "life" to the game for the average player. Because the average player is almost never going to interact with that content.
1. Your LS had just spent the last X amount of hours camping the HNM and got outclaimed (usually because the other LS had better bots/more people willing to bot), and you were sticking around to get the ToD or to try to claim it in case the claiming LS wiped.
2. You were planning to purchase something dropped by the HNM.
3. You were getting the ToD.
