Camping won't be taking out.. he just started how he felt about Exp via Camping monsters is tedious.. so he's making this "other way" of grinding which is questing for the people that can't take the killing mobs over and over and over again.

" MMO without Roaming monsters in open world is the death of any MMO" <---- Fact ( I'm sure Yoshi-P knows this since he's well-experienced in MMO's.
And having quests that have you kill mobs over and over again isn't the same? Oh wait, you can solo these quests im pretty much sure of it. It's going to be just another mmo.

Since he took the time to make "jobs" which is party based aspects.. I'm pretty sure he will make half of those quest party related.

probably not, im sure if you want to do it with a party, you can, but you can also just solo it. Also jobs are not until level 30..... soooooooooo.......... Classes are still there as well, hes not taking those out.

Right, so at "Level 30" will be the start of doing party related quests ( or he could very well change the way to get jobs but thats a different discussion) 1-29 can be solo related or 2-3 people, and 30-50 can be 4-8 people. If you look at the course of these patches they been nothing but increasing party related content. " All ideas aside from 7th umbral era content are going to be transferred to 2.0)

Getting the jobs themselfs are party related, GC Quests have been some solo but more recently party related like taking down Goblin NM ( Gridania Quest) can't kill them by yourself or even with 3 people even. 7th Umbral Era was Group content as well (though not included in 2.0).. there's so many Green lights that point to Vision= Party content to me.

But of course we are just going to have to wait till 2.0 to see that. :P

Just because players can solo quests does not mean they will choose to only level that way. People like variety. Why do you think WoW made it possible to level via quests/dungeon runs/battlegrounds? So that players would be able to level via whichever method they felt like at that particular time.

There are days when all I get is 20 minute spurts here and there to log in. On those days, leveling via solo questing is the best option. But solo questing does get boring. On days where I have a decent chunk of time to sit down and play without interruption, I'm going to choose to level with a group.

It doesn't have to be one or the other. Really, it will be okay.

The nature of MMOs is repeated actions.

Whether you repeat killing the same garden variety mobs en masse or repeating quests, you're still repeating actions to fill up an exp bar.

The thing you have yet to address in all these threads is why not having the quests attached to the repeated action is better than having the quest?

Let's say a given level requires killing ten wolves -- for example only. Why is it better to just kill those ten wolves instead of having a quest that rewards a little extra exp attached?

In theory it's better to have quests like this rather than leaving the grind up to camp-style exping because the developers can get creative. The quests don't have to be only "ten wolves and come back." But arguing against quests simply because they have you go kill something multiple times in favor of just killing something multiple times is silly.

All camp style grinding is is quest-chaining without the quests. At least Quest-chaining encourages players to move around the world instead of just following a blazed trail of approved camps.

There's no reason they can't design these quests to need a party.

Exactly! Which I'm 99.9% sure they will do just that! Yoshi-P brought this game from crap to Okay standards. and doing 2 versions at once at that.. I have 100% faith that he will make this game into something special.. and not " Rokien's game"
