Hamlet Defense; The Golnan way

We use 2whm, 1tank, 1 brd, 2doh, 2dol for hyrstmill and golden bazzar. DoH do only attack up till the NM is the last mob then put in the rest of the buffs. DoL do att down > hp down > att down > hp down > att down for the rest of the fight on hyrstmill, att down > hp down > att down for bazzar.

Aleport: 3whm, 1 brd, 2doh, 2dol = dol att down > hp down > att down > hp down > att down, doh att up, brd kites NM solos special mobs.

Edit: pretty much dont need a tank for any of them.

I had the distinct pleasure of being acquainted with Golnan's unique manner and came away from the experience somewhat baffled but mostly offended.

I would like to share this experience if I may even though I know it makes me look like a complete noob. This fact doesn't bother me, Golnan's offensive attitude toward me did.

If you are so adamant about getting Hamlet done correctly Golnan, recruiting a complete noob on his first DoW attempt was ill advised at best and your reaction to expected failure was a punishment that didn't fit the crime. Why not just find an experienced 8 man team and run it to your hearts content instead of putting a complete noob in the role of "literally"

Because Golnan's parties comprise of mostly PUGs anyways. Most of them tend to get their job done right. As he's stated, many of us can get our role on the first time. The strat is there, and it works. He even went as far as to show you where the enemy you need spawns, along with where you should kite. He also stated where and when you should stand for when the NM comes into play.

You failed to do even that. While I think Golnan has too much faith for PUGs, it still surprised me that you couldn't even follow that role correctly, despite his helping you. Though your screencap doesn't seem to show any of that, so your story is pretty one-sided.

When we replaced you with another tank who was on their first time, they still managed to pull the NM and kite it, though not in the area we told them to, it still worked.

So he expects a player who never did it before to get it right the first time, despite being warned so.

And then erupts on a very agressive tirade. On the first fail.

Why do people expect others who never did some content to get it perfectly on the first try just because they did? Hell, why even throw the newbie in such an important role? Really?

Okay so this strategy works for a pickup group, that's awesome. But this man somehow expects people to, despite not even being vaguely aware of who eachother is, have perfect synchrony with eachother. And then proceeds to be angry when it expectedly fails.

I'm thankful for this strategy, but you guys need to learn to chill. You don't have the right to demand a perfect execution out of people in a game before the third try.

Who says our runs are perfect? We constantly fuck up, and we get over it. Even with PUGs it's not a huge deal. The problem is, that Gol linked his thread, showed what to do, where to do what, and even said that the person can do absolutely nothing but killing the cactuar and kiting the NM and he'd be perfectly fine with that. The part about blacklisting was completely uneccesary and added absolutely nothing to the image, aside from showing a blatant grudge.

Was it an overreaction? Sure. However, he did ask, on numerous occasions, if that person needed help/understanding. Again, we've had people do this on their first time, whilst extremely tired and sick. Pulled it off beautifully. The person seriously had not done Hamlet prior to this first time. What happened? He asked exactly what he was supposed to do, and if he didn't understand something, we told him specifically what was required.

I don't have anything against Korlat, but they have certainly made it out for Golnan to be this terrible person, and while that may be true, it's certainly not the case in this situation.

This is also getting off topic. I'd rather not go more into this in fear of the thread being deleted. Also, awkward sentences may be abundant. 6am with no sleep.

I petition for a GM to ban Korlat Eleint. I find his post to be an attack against mine person and I am rather offended that he'd post such a slanderous image. I'm even more worried by his screen captures that were taken before the fact of the matter of the incident, and now feel it is as if he provoked me and didn't do his job on purpose.

This is just unacceptable and I refused to be treated in such a way.

You don't really need enmity reset at all, even without a provisioner, during the middle of the fight for the point bonus. Doing it once towards the end is more than enough, just hold the boss till 2-3 minutes and have the DoL/DoH spam out enough synths and you'll be more than fine.

Open your eyes man, you're telling people to fuck off at least once every 30 seconds in your runs, now you complain that someone is "offending" you by showing everyone how act towards others? lol.

Not the first time I hear/read that about you, but of course there has to be a reason why you're forced doing this with random parties... ^^


I also can't agree on that tactic, hatereset is way easier to manage when the DoL do it........aren't you usually plaing Miner?
