being able to bunny hop around is more realistic than not being able to jump up or down a 1 foot cliff. Not having jump breaks my immersion.

it does? cause what other FF was there that you could jump in? did you call SquareSoft back in the day that your immersion was ruined?
Context Jumping.. it had a purpose in those games -- so much so that you couldn't jump unless you needed to.
FFXIV jumping is the exact opposite. It's 100% meaningless - and you can do it at any time.
For the record, I would have very much preferred the FFX-2, and FFXIII style jumping in this game if it was integrated into the initial design.
But it wasn't, so I don't think jumping (as a silly emote-style action) is needed at all.
Yeah, the devs are gonna regret opening this can of worms if they don't plan on rebuilding every zone to accommodate it.
New players will be baffled by it as well: "So I can jump higher than this table/ledge/fence/rock/log/cliff/etc/etc/etc..but I can't land on it?? WTF is jumping for???"

wrong, FFXIII-2 you could jump when ever you wanted to, and it wont be meaningless in FFXIV it just wont be used to dodge abilities in battle, I want it for terrain navigation I think it is a safe bet that pro-jumpers want it for the same reason. I dont care if they add a filter but I think if they do you folks will just bitch about people sliding up and down things.
