    All we can infer is that it won't be necessary to jump for gameplay reasons, or aid us in any way in battling enemies. I.E. we won't be required to platform, or jump to dodge moves.

    But that doesn't mean we won't be able to use it to jump over a small fence instead of going around, or jump down a cliff instead of awkwardly falling off of it.

    Obviously we'll have to wait and see, but until we see it, it's not a response that leaves nothing up to interpretation.

    I hope thats not true because I dont want to go 4 months without my character, but in the roadmap it says 2.0 free trial from nov-january and I'd like to think that the free trial would be with my own character. So confused..

    and I really hope the beta servers are the same ppl as our current servers, dont want to be separated for 4 months either

    GE: So are there any other new systems we can expect to see at at launch 2.0 that we don’t have now?

    Yoshida: One thing that will be implemented at 2.0 launch will be new instanced raids that will require alliances of 24 players. In addition, for these, and other instanced raids, we will be adding difficulty selections. So players can play on normal difficulty and get certain items, but then try again on a hard setting in order to obtain better items.

    Seems like some of my ideas weren't so bad. Gives me a bit of hope that Yoshi's and my vision for Battle Regime will coincide as well.

    As far as jumping for the sake of jumping. Honestly, unless it allows me to hop over foot high ledges that were previously impassable, I won't be using it.

    - except to annoy those who will be bothered by random jumping.

    Some nice information. But...

    The textures on the ground is fixed, that’s pretty much what it’s going to look like.
    So those are the textures that will be used for release? For shame, Yoshi.

    You're missing about a year's worth of me stating that adjustable difficulties would add to content replability, yes.

    But I'm not taking credit for the implementation of the idea - It's not as if I'm a game designer or anything. It's a coincidence. One I'm glad for.

    I'm curious, will calling chocobos be limited to soloing? Because in the early concept screen, they were shown being used in a party setting. Will every 8 man party have an additional 8 chocobos? Seems kind of ridiculous if so

    I imagine it'll work like in XI, they have fellowship companions which you can add to your party but when you hit the party limit of 6 and say it's 5 PC and 2 NPC one of the NPC will be removed from the party. Basically the chocobos should act as a additional member to fill up a slot when needed but not something in which a full party can double their size by calling upon them. Though maybe they can if they alliance up and summon chcoobos through that means lol.
