Shantoto is back!

Shantotto is the FFXI mascot, and is becoming quite a popular character (in addition to being in Dissidia, she's also the tutorial person in Theatrythm). Hell, she even made it into Diablo 3. It's not surprising that she'd be referenced or show up in other FF games.

There's a wizard weapon/offhand set named after her. She personally doesn't show up.

As others have said, Shatotto is a different person from Shantotto. They are two different people, but the FFXIV version is OBVIOUSLY an illusion to the XI version. Shantotto was very popular/loved and it would make sense that they'd pull a pseudo-version of her in here. Think about it like the iconic Cid that is unmistakably included in EVERY Final Fantasy. They're not the 'same person' but they are obviously connected.

This means FF11 is connected to FF14? or Shantoto is now like Cid.

When the "Traitor" Makes a mention of a paladin he knew long ago in the beginning of the paladin quest line, it was (in my oppinion) an obvious reference to Cecil (im probably wrong though)

The name is not a typo, but it remains to be seen wether it is a direct link or just a vague cameo
