You seem to be smart, I thought you'd know a tech demo is only to show off a console/PC power? 2005 Tech Demo =/= What they originally set out to do with the game.

They show something nice to hype the game and then don't bring it. These few nice pics are just that. Nothing is being said about content, lag, gameplay.

Those of you knocking the resolution need to relax i think. They clearly stated that the new engine would support very high end pc's and have a max specs setting that was much different the console or low res settings. They could be showing these in order to highlight the fact that it can be run at low res and still look great for the people that didnt want to buy whole new rigs just ot play this like many of us did. Its been one of the major complaints since 2010. Not to mention if thats how it looks on the Ps3, thats amazing.

And I have Tera. But FFXlV has the bigger scale, and has a more realistic look to it which is the art style I like more. Tera looks like a bigger, scale, version of WoW with faster gameplay.

I agree and echo the above, The FF14 looks nice, but the games are going for 2 contrasting aesthetics too. FF14 has a more earthy look to it. while magical and mystical the setting is fairly "normal" The forest is similar to a forest you could find on earth.

Tera however is full on color and magical everything. The forests in much of Tera are highly fanciful and lend to a different look.

Of the two, i think i prefer the FF14 look, resolution or not. Keep in mind theres always the opportunity for SE to add stronger textures later on. But you can only fit Z amount of work in Y amount of time....Solve for X!
