^^This sums it up quite right for me. I just have this sense, they are going to drop the ball again, I hope I'm wrong, though. My expectation is that SE should have learnt their lesson by now and should know that 2.0 is pretty much the reason majority of us still hang around and that while some of us could wait until release as its not far, we need something to give us a little more hope/hype until then.
But ya know, its SE, could just be bullshit CGI.
I guess it's a good thing people have low expectations this time, then we might find ourselves a surprise later!
I have low to zero expectation. Why? Because to me, this feels like waiting for the miracle patch again.
I got fooled once. But God forbid I don't want to get fooled twice.
SE needs to drop the trailer and give us a powerpoint with movie clips![]()
It would be Awesome if Yoshi-P came out in a White Knight Suit and Dance in this Song He's our Hero!

What I'm HOPING:
- New job announcements
- Gameplay footage
- A date for anything
- More male Miqo'te info
- Removal of classes (or turning classes into weaponskill sets equipable by various jobs)
What I'm EXPECTING:
- CGI trailer with hype

i have zero expectation why? because 2.0 wont bring everything they said it be in 2.0a 2.0b 2.0c and then the rest of the stuff may be delay too 2.1 2.2 if everything they said does come in the patch 2.0 then that fine but no need to get your hope up then it just get burn later
for E3 i am hoping for video maybe with ingame clip somewhere even if 30sec long i dont' care lol
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together Autographed By "Akihiko Yoshida Tarot Card Sweepstakes Winner
Given the trailer is assumedly aimed at those who dont follow 14 a lot of the items you (well all of us on the forums..) are hoping for would have little meaning. I'm sure there will be a lot of re-hype about what we have currently summarising how the game has changed since 2010.
I expect SE to be on the ball and directly demonstrate the flaws from 2010 have been dealt with, such as:
a) copy and paste world ---> show ingame footage of new areas and various landmarks, i'm waiting for SE to surprise me and show ingame footage of all areas in their v2 announcement artwork.
b) mystery/"did you see cait sith?!" ----> roaming odin etc
c) battle system ---> classes, jobs, new proposed classes and jobs, combos (and a glimpse of the new UI - PC UI and PS3 UI)
d) beta announcements and planned releases
e) homage to past fantasies ---> weapons / behemoth, not these damn marmots and dodos!
That said, I expect little more than a CGI trailer, but if thats the case it would be ignored by the consumer base at E3, and frustrate/antagonise existing players.
- Promotional SiteWe are currently working on the promotional site for 2.0 to prepare for this year’s E3 that will take place on June 5th. Additionally, we are in the final stages of a new video that we have been working on. Everything around me is pretty hectic with tasks related either 2.0 or the Seventh Umbral Era.
We will also be starting a new promotion at the end of the month so please look forward to that as well.
After E3, we will be releasing new information in stages. Please be advised that the promotion will also target new players who have never seen or played FFXIV so it will include content you may all be already familiar with. Don’t worry; I’m planning to include new content for the existing players too. Stay tuned!
- Video with some old and some new stuff
- New Promotion at the end of the month (Did I miss something? Which month did he mean?)
- New Information in stages after E3
