That is a lazy, and terrible game design practice that FFXIV don't need to follow. I hope you're not serious.

    Lol.

"I hear the Blue Mages come from a near eastern empire." - CoP era.

    2006 rolls around.

Treasures of Aht Urhgan takes place in...*drum roll* a continent in the near east. How is that lazy? >.>

They made a specific place, and lore for Bluemage.

Yeah, really not sure if serious.
I'm not talking about FFXI. If you want to get more serious I suggest you read the OP again as I mention new lore and origin for new jobs. As it is the main topic of this thread.

The point is, many of the jobs in FFXI were made without the need of adding new zones to explain origins, though some of them were utilized by the zones added with the expansion. Mainly for quests and AF location.

Last time I checked, the same company that made FFXIV also made FFXI. Pretty sure they made a whole bunch of other FF games too with incredible story and lore as well as several other games.

We do not necessarily need new zones for new jobs. I'm pretty confident that SE will do it right, if not even better, when new classes and jobs come out. My only concern is how will they add new guild buildings for each new classes outside of Arcanist and Musketeer.

Sure, I'm all for new zones myself, and looking forward to it, but honestly, we don't strictly need new zones to explain new jobs.

SAM and NIN were from the far eastern empire. Where's my far eastern empire? Oh, naw we got previous zones reskinned instead.

Need it be always a far eastern empire? Why not a far western city state like Sharlayan?

But in 1 point you are right. SE should first bring the classes who have already a home in Eorzea. You hear SE? Bring first Arcanist and Musketeer. Save the other classes for the first expansion pack.

    Mmm. Musketeer.
I really would love to actually use some double flintlock action.

Look up the Heavenstrum event, it's already implying the far east, with Kabutos and all. The far east is playing another role in this game. Again. I was referring to FFXI, if we're going to see those eastern classes/jobs come in, I'd like them to hold off until we reach their nation, personally.
