Help with account recovery... =(

I've always had one but for some reason it was saying it was invalid, I checked my email a while ago and there was a letter in my spam from them with a link to a diffrent password change screen and it unlocked the account. On a side note a few minutes ago my brothers account was locked as well though it was easyer to fix because this time it recognized his email.

In any case I've now put the security token from my collectors edition on my account. And ordered one for my brother as well. Hopefully that helps keep this from happening again.

The security token will cause the login to bypass the ip check. So you wont have to worry about it again

Oh nice. Well that works out then, glad I spent the extra money for our accounts.

head up they send an email to the email that registered with that account so check your email it does it to me every time i go to my buddys house.

Nah, it can happen if your Router resets or your Dynamic IP Address resets (some ISPs do it Daily / Weekly etc.)

Oh hopefully thats all it was then.

Usually it doesn't trigger it because its within the same IP range, but I've had it once when I logged in instantly after my router reset.

Can I ask what steps you took to fix this, Dann?

I haven't been able to log into the game since yesterday and I'm not sure why. I keep getting a message saying my user or password as incorrect although my friend is able to log into me perfectly fine on his PC (Note - he didn't know my details beforehand).

I've reset my password several times and contacted the support desk but if there's anything else I can do I'll try it!

Fadigre it sounds as if either:

Your CAPS LOCK is on, your keyboard is typing the wrong characters (Try typing your Password onto Notepad so you can see it's correct then copy & paste it into FFXIV) or you've got internet connection problems with SE.

Try typing the password out and copying it to see if that helps, also try logging into the forums / SE Account Centre to see if it works.
