Either he wound up with some elitist pricks in his party or they were just trying to think of an excuse to get him out of the party. Asking to have triple melded gear is unreasonable considering its going to be around a 1% chance to have just one piece of gear triple melded let alone multiples. I highly doubt that if he was in a pickup party they were all walking around with triple melded gear.
