You can - or at least I did once in XI. All macros and settings gone after a crash and nowhere to be found. I continually backed up after that. It can happen.
You are right for the most part though - it's an uncommon thing, but it still can happen.


Yeah, I know what you mean. I've only heard of that happening thrice since starting XI back around NA launch. Though I've only heard of it happening on the console versions, so I assumed it was a non-issue for PC players. Thankfully macros aren't quite as essential in XIV as they were in XI eh?

Honestly, the game is in such a transitional state right now that it's a lot to ask for their support staff to know everything about every problem with the game in it's current state of flux.
DarkRain we do get what your saying, you just not getting everyone else. Just because you contact support don't mean everyone can help. There are only certain things they are suppose to do. What the person said was true. They couldn't help you because it wasn't their job to do so. Not everyone is going to make favors, only for it to be abused. You are just wasting time. Its like calling the hospital to report a robber. Sure they can call the cops for you out of being nice, but it isn't their job to do so.

I can add another SE horror story. Just to prove how stupid there service is to the people who pay there bills.
Last year i me and my wife were playin 11. she quit in Febuary. So her account was inactive. i Restated in april. I got a world transfer , got 2 new exp. packs the crystaline proficy ones. Well come looking at my bank ststement thay chaged me 50.38 cents twice. I was like WTF! so i called them. And called my bank. THe second charge was charged to my wifes account witch is still close / inactive. Only my account was active. Her card and my card are linked to the same account. So i was like ok so why am i being charged 2 times. And there like well this account has a charge and thats all i see. Im like ok check my wifes account witch is inactive. There like i see a charge to that account. but that card has ben removed from our system 3 days ago. I was like how ironic. So i talked to the bank because that would be faster then waiting 2 weeks for SE to investigate the issue. So i did a reverse bank charge from the vender SE. Come to find out that faild because Se said it was legimit. Then i recalled SE andc was like again WTF how is this ligit when was her account last active thay said febuary. i was like ok when did my account get charged 50$ and change for my add-ons. April. I said ok so why again am i charged twice. And again no one could tell me why. SE has a habbit to dick with you and be very vauge. Even if you have all the info for them . Whats the ending of the story i paid 100 bucks for 1 world trans . and 2 add-ons when it was only 50 bucks. i never did get my cash back.
Thats SE for ya. But i like FF so i deal with this BS. If you ever have any kind of issue you will know how bad thay are when it comes to helping you


Why are you blaming SE tech support when your game froze? SE can't do anything about a problem that's entirely on your end.
And the only thing you "risk losing" is macros and settings you changed since you logged in. Everything else is stored server side.


No it is not a connection problem or anything, I have the same exact problem with Willelda. My hubby had the same exact problem with an npc when ever he tried to sell things to them. When it happens I just exit out of the game and log back on. It is just some bug, hopefully it will be fixed.
Darkrain it is not their job to tell you that. They can ONLY say they can't help you.
And based on what you said, you bought the same addon twice. unless you got the moogle one then ACP.
Also in that situation you ask for a manager. I kinda find it funnt though cuz... world transfer and the addons are account basis you can only buy them under that account your on. the only way your wifes account woulda been billed if she did the same. Sorry i kinda don;t believe your secord story since its almost physically impossible to get charged on 2 different accounts. Since the account needs to have had purchased it.
