    I was watching and wasn't too impressed with it either plus here some of the reasoning behind some of the changes.

    • We wanted to make it easier to use Temperance"
    • "We understand monotony is a problem from pressing 1 button so every other press will result in a different animation"
    • "Using gcd healing spells resulted in a dps loss so we adjusted the meter so its neutral...to make it easier to deal damage and heal we removed the cast time of glare"
    • Whm is popular because its simple"
    • "We want healers to focus on healing so the objective was to preserve that simplicity"
    This is also the fourth they've promised increased healing ever since they said that at shadowbringers.

It looks like you'll just be a healbot, the fun in WHM right now is trying to maximize slidecasting and keeping your lilies flowing to align your blood lily with everything. With these new changes you have literally nothing to worry about except GCD healing when needed, which, as I said, could be good if SE actually delivers on their promise of more healing, but as it looks now everything that adds any amount of optimization to the job is just gone.

    No Assize, no lily, no dia, no cast times so no slidecasting, still pressing one button, this all just doesn't look fun.

    Forgive me for being a little unsure with how SE has handled feedback in the past. Pointing out what we don’t like is literally part of giving feedback while stuff is still being developed, aka, the best time for it. That's not doom and gloom, it’s just me explaining my concerns. Doom and gloom would be acting like the job is ruined forever and the game is going to die if this doesn't get changed. I'm not doing that. Stop pretending anything that isn't blind praise is dooming or hating on the game.

    It's not doom and gloom, its voicing the concerns in one of the few moments when they may actually matter.

    Whm did absolutely not look well, position management is gone with the instant, seems like the focus on GCD heals will kill any resource management, it has lost offensive actions that broke the monotony of the 1 button spam and even lillies seem to be a downgrade from the current version.

    I fear for the rest of healers if they somehow found a way to make Whm worse

    Man, I wonder if people also tell ppl to shut up when they first introduced stormblood lily pre-StB and StB launch. See how that fares?

    Okok, I wonder where are those people who tells healers to ‘just wait they will give you more depth!’ in early ShB. See how that fares today?

    At some point people need to admit & see that it’s just PR & devsplaining. Given that happened not just once or twice by now, it’s hard to be optimistic this time around. It could be different at launch. But I’m not holding my breath.

    We’re playing Physical Ranged with free heals & that’s that, until reality proves us wrong. Even the dreaded basic joke model of Glare + Holy + Super Cure + Super Medica + Sprint + Raise/LB with cast time is looking more appealing now, and that’s saying a lot about the current & upcoming design.

    To me, the gutting of the slide casting is just perfection. I always fking hated that. On the positive note, then it also means that the fights will be increasingly more dynamic and heavy on movement, which I like.

    What I saw was pretty much a combination of two games I absolutely adored the class design of, TERA + Blade and Soul. I am pretty much excited. I also suspect FF14 will most likely go towards more action combat now, which is another thing I love.

    As for WHM being super simple, I also think it's great. Not everything needs to be overly complicated and with a high ceiling. Having a class that is simple and intuitive + straightforward is great.

    Bear in mind this is the showcase of a deep in development build. For all we know, Assize has just not been implemented in WHM's Evolved toolkit. It's also probably still in Reborn.

    It’s gutted, and nothing is replacing it. There is nothing to do on evolved WHM except healbot. No MP management, no lily management. Stand around and react to damage. How is this fun?

    WHM is already simple the way it is. And what is wrong with a high skill ceiling, when the skill floor is already so low? Easy to play, hard to master, I think almost every game dev agrees is a decent motto to follow…
