    The appeal of healers to me has always been choice. Choosing who’s the best target to heal, choosing the most efficient heal at the moment, managing my resources as best as possible.

    There’s no decision making with this mode… No meaningfully unique healing tools, just automatically heal any ounce of damage with Cure/Medica and get rewarded for it. Not to mention insta cast Glare, just why? The monotonous attacks was like the number one thing everyone complained about…

    I want to say this is tonedeaf, but this change seems to be for those who specifically want to healbot to a perverse degree, except it’s still trying to bargain with them with “hey, look, it takes absolutely zero effort to press your single damage button now!” And I have to wonder why even bother at that point, just remove the damage button and make WHM automatically do damage to the boss so we can “focus more on healing.”

    I’m not very confident in how the other healers will play now.

    To me, the gutting of the slide casting is just perfection. I always fking hated that. On the positive note, then it also means that the fights will be increasingly more dynamic and heavy on movement, which I like.

    What I saw was pretty much a combination of two games I absolutely adored the class design of, TERA + Blade and Soul. I am pretty much excited. I also suspect FF14 will most likely go towards more action combat now, which is another thing I love.

    As for WHM being super simple, I also think it's great. Not everything needs to be overly complicated and with a high ceiling. Having a class that is simple and intuitive + straightforward is great.

    This is exactly what has made healing in FFXIV interesting up to this point. Making choices of which tools to use and where, and the consequences of those choices while trying to strategically DPS as much as possible.

    I literally made this forum account just now (Hi!) to echo the dissatisfaction with what we saw with WHM at the dev panel, for what it's worth.
