I always understood this as more of a quirk of the system, the fairies also have their own GCD system and Embrace is a GCD for them, so when we command them to cast specific spells, they cast it on the next available GCD window, comparatively, Carby not doing anything in the current Summoner means that it will act as soon as you press the button, because it doesn't have a GCD rolling.
