If someone has special needs to play the game that's something the devs should address by offering accessibility options via UI/UX, not by gutting jobs. Is it really being inclusive if what they're being offered is an abridged experience?

The community: "Healing casual content must be braindead easy so literally every healer can clear dungeons even when not casting a single heal!"

Also the community: "Why are there so many bad healers in my PF?"

Funny how going through the entire game with absolutely zero challenge does nothing to prepare someone for endgame content. Bullet, meet foot.

Tell that to the people who had threads on here saying they were old, disabled and couldn't handle the "DDR" of current dungeons. The reason tanks have self sustain is so that the tank doesn't randomally die to healers who want to RP walk because dying through no fault on their own isn't fun for the tank.

At the end of the day these forums cannot make up their minds and its maddening. First dungeons were too easy so they made them harder and everyone on here suddenly had no arms, legs, were 90 years old and had cancer, so they swapped them back. Healers complained they had nothing to do so normal raids were much harder in Cruiserweight and definitely required some healing early on but once again people here were upset and complaining about DDR and needing to baby the party and chain raise.

At the end of the day if people want a more traditional mmo experience of heal botting there are plenty out there. In my opinion part of this games identity is that healers are expected to dps and balance the parties health with their own damage output.

I don't understand the fun in cure spamming an entire dungeon as opposed to glare spamming.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk

Another example of someone who walks and & doesn't read anything.

Nobody is asking for cure spam. Theres a crap load of buttons a healer has to heal with, but 0 to use it on in 99% of casual content. Because tanks (and to a lesser extent dps) eat up that responsibility with healing abilities they DID NOT USED TO HAVE.

Of course rhe forum 'cant make up it's mind' you're talking about 100+ people with very different experiences with the game.

This dumb as bricks argument of 'tanks need to be able to heal themselves as good as a healer could because what if your healer is braindead' is trash. And has already been discussed a lot in this thread if you bothered to read the conversation before commenting.

I see tanks who don't use mit or AoE abilities regularly, though. And all manner of interesting DPS players. I distinctly remember the time I had to Dance Partner our White Mage in a dungeon because they were putting out by far the most damage.

And yet, we don't see other jobs getting massive mitigation tools or huge damage nukes to compensate.
Yes bruh I had a white mage in my party who was using cure 1 as much as possible because free cur is a psychological trap that generates healers wondering why they can't keep up with wall to wall.

I just took smaller pulls because im pretty certain if I tried to tell them ti just use cure 2 they'd feel harassed or guilty but this game does not teach new players how to play their jobs correctly at all and its better for time management and toxicity management for tanks and red mages to be able to save runs in casual content with their sustain abilities.

    Anything else?

Also, plenty of videos around from back in the day to actually get a basic understanding of what was happening. It's not rocket science.

I remember how painful doing any sort of open world was on traditional healers, too, because you essentially did close to 0 dmg. So I too do not understand this " I want to be a healer bot" mentality.

Yeah its very weird to me that these people want to absoutley blow their healing kits entire load every single pull instead of chucking a regen on the tank and dpsing to make the run faster and smoother.

It was been proven time and time again how much longer and awful a dungeon run is when a healer is "just focusing on healing" and yeah overworld content would be a nightmare if we had traditional healbots. Its crazy to me.

If you don't like how healing works in this game maybe look at other options before asking the game to adjust to you.

All of those are game design concerns that could pretty easily be addressed without making healers obsolete in the vast majority of content. Being able to save runs in a clutch situation is fine. Being able to both tank and keep the party topped off like WAR is able to, not so much.

Also, nobody would feel harassed unless you're being a jerk. Otherwise I'd have been banned fifty times over by now.

The option to do higher end content is right there for you at any time and I can assure you healing is needed in Ex and above.
Ah yes, spamming Glare and refreshing Dia every 30 seconds with lilies after a scripted raidwide is so much fun... Healing is needed in that content, sure, but the actual gameplay doesn’t feel fun. In EX and Savage, most fights boil down to: “everyone hits their mitigation, heal the party, and then we wait for the next raidwide while pressing ONE button.” It’s not really exciting.

I’m not asking for tanks to lose all their self‑sustain, but the current setup leaves very little room for healers to actually heal. I’ve basically stopped doing roulettes on healer even though it’s my favorite role, because I know I’ll just be bored. Healers pick the healing role because we want to heal. I’ve been playing WoW with a friend lately, and it’s honestly refreshing to actually press healing buttons and keep track of health bars instead of the mit into topping the party and back to glare loop.

A lot of healers have gotten used to doing the bare minimum, and that’s fine overall. I just don’t think that’s the standard the role should be balanced around. I don’t need dungeons to be harder, but right now there’s barely any space for healers to learn their job when tanks handle most of damage they take. That’s how we end up with more and more green DPS who don't know when to use their abilities.

Few weeks ago I actually did San'doria and it had a BUNCH of new people on the boss with the crystals, alliances were wiping left and right and the healers were working super hard to keep people alive and ressing people, it was fun, engaging and I felt like what I was doing mattered, I felt like a healer, which is something I don't get 99% of the time in this game.

DPS dies? Tanks solo mechanic or cheese it. Tank dies? Everyone dies because only tanks are able to bypass certain mechanics by cheesing. Even healer LB is so scuffed, you use it, save the party, but it doesn't matter because the game locks you in place for 10 seconds and you die and probably take someone with you anyway.

You say "if you don't like it there are other mmo's out there." and I'll repeat myself to everyone who uses that stupid argument, enjoy uttering that phrase when enough people DO leave the game and the game doesn't reach the funds needed to continue operating. Those using that phrase keep using it to downplay genuine issues people are having because it doesn't affect them. It's so obnoxious.
