I'm slightly disappointed by hamlet defense too but I wasn't expecting much from it.
I don't feel much of a "defense urgency" when the waves are like... 4 beastmen? lol
And why are the NPC front line guards archers...?

This was a troll? Well played....I was beginning to wonder whether or not the op was just a raging lunatic>.>;
I'm so glad to have you in this community, you really speak for the majority of the player base in almost every comment you make. Must make SE's life a lot easier when making decisions.
FFXI did have a character draw limit which seems to be the case in XIV as well right now; it's something Yoshi's mentioned wanting to address for 2.0. Although I have to say I dont recall ever being hit by a mob in Besieged or Campaign that I couldn't see on-screen. I also don't recall it being a major complaint among the players. Not saying it didn't happen, just that I don't recall it really being a major issue.There is a possibility that the game engine be the limiting factor but even in 11 during large campaign fights and especially Besieged it couldn't show many player/enemy models.
1 of the biggest flaws in both campaign and besieged was being killed by invisible mobs or not being able to target an alliance member because they weren't drawn on screen.
Being instanced isn't really the issue with Hamlet being disappointing though, at least IMO.
As far as being instanced or not being the issue, I think it can be fun or lousy whether it's instanced or non-instanced. My thing is mostly about them not (ab)using instancing to the point that activities that could (and arguably, should) be more about bringing players together in a community sense being instead separated into individual "bubbles". Something like Besieged or CB would not have been as fun as it was, on the scale that it was, if those events had been instanced and split up among smaller groups.
I like it, it's a fun time. I also really like getting anima back from it!
OP doesn't know what he's talking about. Hamlet is fine.
Love how he thinks because he was in the beta he thinks he can throw his weight around as if it means something.
Welcome to the internet. Nobody cares.
