Regarding the predatory practices of gacha (which I agree 100% they are predatory and intended to siphon money), I'm completely fine with it since it makes the rest of the game free. In my eyes, someone with poor impulse control is now subsidizing a game I can play for free, and that's a-ok by me. It's like casinos and smoking and alcohol getting taxed more. Horrible vices that destroy lives but y'know if people are going to get addicted anyway, may as well get something out of it.

It's not free as I mentioned in the past like everything is built from the ground up up extract as much money from the players regardless if you don't spend anything or not like it will always waste IRL time, FOMO, resources, and limited your progress so ppl are compelled to pay money at every turn even if you think oh the battle pass is a good deal since it will always go EoS once whales quit and you've wasted thousands on nothing.

Yes, I know FFXIV will eventually be shut down, but at least I've not sunk like $5,000 on gacha, so I can pretend that I'm having fun and not promoting gambling to children lol.

I mean, if you play and support gacha it just leads to more new gacha being made over like normal single-player games and therefore nuking my fav games hobby so I can say it's p much why all mobile games market is full of them.
