Bad lag again with NTT's NA server network

I just came back to this game from a 4 year break (because Shadowbringers was so bad it made me quit) and I can't do anything.

Dragonskin/Gazelleskin maps? No.
Crafting? No.
Palace of the Dead? No.

Cause a D/C causes a wipe in progress.

Even Eureka bunny FATEs probably wipe the bunny if you D/C mid exploration.

How are people staying subbed? Are people actually paying extra for a VPN to play this super easy bland and simplistic game?

I only came back cause I'm doing a Rune Level 1 Playthrough on Elden Ring, and wanted something relaxing to play. D/C'ing 2+ times a day restricting what I can do, and ... not relaxing, is ... well... not relaxing.

At this rate I'm not going to resub.

The game is still great, but alas, it's being hosted by a bunch of incompetents. I'm already regretting that I returned paying 3 months in advance, because at this rate, I'm not gonna keep up with it for 3 months. Mass disconnects every couple of hours (I know it's not on my side if there's a 500-long login queue when trying to reconnect)? Maybe acceptable if you're in alpha status, if you're an established top-tier MMO, heads should roll.

(just another DC, while I was halfway a level in PotD. I guess I'll skip that for now. I guess I'm gonna reinstall GW2 or something).

I hate the fact that they keep calling these technical difficulties due to DDoS.....its not DDoS when i can watch my entire FC disconnect because they are all routed to the same garbage NTT node while im rerouted around using a VPN. If it was DDoS the actual SERVERS would be unreachable...not immediately able to reconnect within seconds of a disconnect.

at this point, savage is going likely be a wash on NA. if my static wasnt still seeming to want to try, i'd be out.

Kind of at a loss on what to do. I came back and was excited to get back into the game, especially to craft new sets of high-end gear, but the constant, constant datacenter deaths and long queues has me paranoid into paralysis at the thought of losing hundreds of thousands of gil in mats because the game still has no failsafe for dropping during crafting. I already lost a few pre-crafts and collectables to this. When is a real solution going to happen??

It is unacceptable for a modern AAA game to suffer from such severe network performance issues while the studio remains silent. I am on an AT&T Fiber connection and have experienced degraded service in FFXIV for the past two weeks.

Square Enix needs to take immediate action to resolve this -- they're really screwing their golden egg by be silent. I am debating about dropping my sub to the base sub and just deal with the two retainers because of it.

It is baffling that DDoS attacks are still causing instability even when routing through WARP. They are severely mismanaging their flagship title.

For context, every instance duty has lag and disconnects. I can't do any content without any network lag + freezes. I can craft and do basic overworld stuff but anything instance wised I am SOL.

Square needs to really focus on the issue instead of trying to generate more content. If they can't get their act together we won't have to worry about the "next ten years of FFXIV"

had this issue, posted here one or two years ago, nothing changed, seems like its more widespread now, maybe it will get fixed now that it affects more people.

this is not a DDOS, its a route on sacramento which drops packets, at certain hours of the day it constantly would stay at 40% packet loss.

i transferred to EU server, higher ping, but 0% packet loss

Yep, it's the Sacramento Node Again. I just ran a tracert and the ping jumps up pretty high at times forcing disconnects. They can't call it DDOS anymore if NTT isn't gonna do their damn job. If anything, can SE just think about changing providers in the future? They are literally SE's Cash Cow right now and they're letting it burn.

They need to improve this service for people in NA, or else people just aren't gonna bother at all on Patch Day or Savage Day - like seriously. They'll play the game because they like it, but honestly if the company isn't going to do a damn thing about the experience, then people are going to get fed up enough about it they'll leave the service altogether.

Cloudflare with Warp can bypass a lot of the lag and ntt end stuff. It takes some tweaking of your consoles dns settings to use but for pc users its as easy as installing the program and playing ff14.
