This means that a BLM burn strategy is an exploit, because it abuses a mechanic that is not supposed to be there.
Yes, but by "abusing" you mean doing exactly what BLMs were designed to do... nuking
I understand what you guys are saying... I just have to play the devil's advocate here

If a stop sign is poorly made, and it falls under it's own weight and cars no longer stop at that particular intersection....
That stop sign (And in turn, that intersection) are no longer working as intended...
Whether you KNOW the stop sign was supposed to be there or not, you are not legally bound to stop at the corner, and therefore cannot be penalized for failing to stop

There is no argument. Abusing a mechanic is still abusing a mechanic, regardless of whether you are using valid mechanics to do it or not. If I got 1mil gil every time I sold a copper ore to an npc, farming copper and selling it repeatedly is exploiting a broken mechanic. Yes I'm still just "npcing copper like I'm allowed to do," but now I"m doing it for the express purpose of abusing a bug. Running into a wall is no sin, but if you're doing it to skip through an entire dungeon its an exploit. An exploit is an exploit, I appreciate your attempt but there is no wiggle room for this one.

But that works different from a game. Once you learn something is an exploit, you are legally bound by the terms of service and conditions (which you signed) to cease and desist. Failure to do so is a bannable offense. Yoshi *does* have the right to ban anyone continuing to use this exploit you know, as they are clearly violating the contract which they signed in order to play the game. He doesn't ban them out of his good graces, don't get it confused. There is absolutely no wiggle room here at all. Yoshi clarified that his is an unintended mechanic, and ppl who are intentionally trying to abuse that mechanic are exploiting the game. Its no different than the tons of other examples I gave. I just find it amazing how anyone would even bother to rationalize it at all, as there's nothing to rationalize. Game exploits are easily defined, easily recognized, and easily avoided. There's really nothing to defend.

As vague as their terms and conditions are, you're right
Honestly, if he wanted to, Yoshi could probably ban pretty much any one of us for pretty much anything and be legally justified in doing so.

I just say people who do the so called "exploit" don't have as much fun on the fight as people who don't... and thats enough for me

I could care less as long as ppl own up and admit they are doing what they are doing. And they don't need devil's advocates because they have plenty of denial already. I figure if someone is going to exploit the game to get easy loot, they might as well just admit that 's what they are doing. It doesn't affect me so I dont care. Listening to their stupid justifications does affect me (pet peeve 101) so I'll go on all day. I just can't wait to laugh at that one blm burn party that didnt get the memo when its hotfixed.

Quiet as it's kept.... I feel like I DD on WAR as fast as any of the BLMs in the "Burn" anyway....
And since that is AOE that also damages the plumes... I feel like the BLM burn can't be that much easier than the real way to do it

Lol BLM burn skips aerial blast. Thats like skipping hellfire on ifrit. Once its fixed there will be *no* way to skip it so yes, it will be quite a lot harder. Do you know how many parties I saw come out dead? Most of them.

I am not sure if you are joking about that or if you are serious and your blm's are just terrible.

Unless the fight lasts over like 8 minutes there should be no way for a warrior to come close to a blm's single target damage output, no matter how amazing you think you are.

we tried the BLM burn to see what all the fuss was about... and I did like 12k (While tanking), and we killed it and the fight lasted 4 minutes... I'm not sure what you mean? but had I not been doing any voke/flash/damage mitigation type stuff then my damage would go up quite a bit....

I know... Its just a lot of people are spending so much time trying to perfect the BLM burn way, if they spent that much time working on the regular strat, I think they'd get it down eventually
