I get it, on one hand its a series of trophies that people fought and more importantly competed for, but I think re-release as named "Replica" is a good way to keep the original items distinct while giving other players access to the glamour design. To me, this is a win-win and opens a lot of doors and while I understand some people's pride may be hurt, our successes are still not wiped out so this is genuinely for the better.

You cannot earn something if you weren't playing back then. That's why the current system that works for everything else in the game is vastly superior.
I don't think they should give it out for free, but let people earn them if they put in the time and energy. Nobody cares that you got it 14 years ago.

I didn't earn it back then. Nobody cares that you can't get the rewards for a limited-timed exclusive reward for a time you weren't playing. The blade cuts both ways.

They should be adding new rewards, not going back on their word and reintroducing previous limited-time only stuff that people put in effort to get at the time.

I have been playing for longer than the OP and vehemently disagree with this "they are throwing out the veterans" garbage. Permanent limited time rewards are dumb in EVERY game. You shouldn't be given special treatment THAT extreme just because you were here first. Limited time stuff is fine, but only if they plan to make it accessible for others at a later period. This is a gross overreaction. Besides, nobody liked the Feast anyway.

Of course they care. People always care for things they can't get and look for ways to get them anyway. And if it means they have to constantly complain to SE a lot, they will do it.

Well one side of the blade is way longer than the other (if that makes sense). The amount of people that want feast rewards to stay exclusive are a fraction of a percent compared to the rest of the player base that wants to earn those rewards. That's why yoshi p himself stated how they got a lot of requests to bring them back. There's no way the same amount of people want to keep them exclusive especially with how many new people joined the game late that couldn't get them. It's a simple business move of listening to the majority of your sub payers instead a very small subset of people that can't move on from their virtual achievements. If the game was always heavily influenced by the opinions of a small group of people then we would have never gotten unrestricted glam since there are people that (incorrectly) think it destroys job identity so it should remain restricted.

I’m more concerned that some people that come to pvp just for the glams may not know how to play and may not contribute in the match much.

Seems like average day with "im just here for exp" roulette players.

I presume the opposite actually, that some (if not most) former Feast winners are just toothless and lethargic about having to fight a new generation of people that might be Feast-worthy in a new era.

...Which is a REALLY bad look when you consider all the accusations of win-trading back then where, if these prestigious top 100 are so sure of their skill, you'd think they would be chomping at the bit to prove it again. Instead its just a bunch of whimpering and yelping while they cling to trinkets that are somehow simultaneously "too sacred" for anyone else to have but "not important enough" to bring back.

At the very least you'd think they would notice "wait, doesn't this mean I could CURB the amount of people who get the rewards because I'm the maw they must face?" assuming the rewards are tied to ranked or some other competitive challenge. But nope, we had a few Feast winners/participants going straight to quaking in their boots and crying about how unfair it all is.

At least the Frontline leechers have enough spine to risk being reported, not sure where the backbone went on all these feasters over the years though, lol.

I distinctly recall not getting into the Feast very far because I wasn't interested in joining win-trading discords and often couldn't play during the peak hours Feast discords designated.
