Where are the raids going tho? Currently, it's October, and there's new statics forming often, and PF listings for the old Arcadian raid tiers are still active. The majority of raiders aren't going to do week 1 clears, and it will be there after Xmas too if they have other traveling plans.

I think it is cute that savage raiders think a patch should be delayed only for them, like they're the majority of the playerbase. Um, most of us don't even touch savage shit. You'll live.

Going by this logic why would you care if Savage was delayed an additional week so as not to cause problems for the players wanting to chase week 1? After all, if "most of you don't even touch savage," then it has no bearing if the players who do engage with it would prefer a delay.

Putting all that aside. Of course they'll live. That isn't the point. For people who want to do this content at a high end pace when it's at its most challenging, week 1 is the only option. Afterwards it becomes increasingly difficult to prog blind, especially in PF.

How about doing it for fun? Most people chasing week 1 clears don't give a damn about "online clout". Heck, even those racing don't care beyond the added excitement racing provides. It's a challenge where everyone is on a completely even playing field both in terms of gear and knowledge as strats are very limited.

But of course, we need to find some way to dismiss that.

Doesn't this put Savage on the week of the 23rd? Are Devs really going to release a major piece of end game content on the holidays, again? This is definitely something that will cause some backlash because of how busy that time of year is. I am a fairly casual savage raider and even I can see how many people could potentially be unhappy with this in the World Race crowd.

If I were Yoshi-P I would push 7.4 to either release 1-2 weeks prior, or delay savage by 1 week so that it falls on the week of New Year's. it's still kind of crappy to have it drop mid holiday, but better New Year's than two days before Christmas.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

Everyone saying "the raids will still be there in January" is missing the point. For week 1 raiders, missing 2-3 days right after release will ruin the Savage experience they're looking forward to. Isn't that enough for you to at least not be snide about it? I really dislike this sort of dismissive mocking response.

For "normal" (non week 1, non hardcore) statics, it will probably mean that they start 1-2 weeks later than the drop so no biggie. I think most statics won't go in blind so the average clear time might be "better" than usual because better guides will be available from the start. For racers, the 23rd is just early enough that it could be fine if they are done quickly enough. But I still think a few EU (maybe NA) RWF teams will drop out because a) some EU countries (notably Germany) celebrate Christmas Eve/the 24th and b) some players don't want to do hardcore raiding right before Christmas.

For week 1 PFers, this could be a reason to just skip the tier. I've already seen a few friends and acquaintances consider it. W1 statics will probably find a way but I wouldn't be surprised if there are way fewer than usual.

There are probably more people who have more (rather than less) free time around the christmas holiday anyway, what with being on christmas vacation and all. Yes, it means everyone doesn't have equal opportunity to do "week 1 raiding", which is one of the many reasons why week 1 raiding is stupid and pointless.
