it depends on who you ask because a large chunk of the playerbase (mainly NA) travel to spend the holidays with family and don't have access to the game. this could potentially disrupt the world first race, which is why i think some people will be pretty unhappy about it. I've never participated in world first, so it's not an issue to me, but the race is a pretty huge community event, one that is endorsed by the company.

Since when does the Christmas holiday mean everyone is suddenly glued to their families? Like get real. You may spend a day or two, but who is legit spending a week or more?

We either stick to the schedule or it is delayed into January which will then delay everything and you're looking at mid-2027 or summer 2027 for 8.0. HELL NO. The no content gap between 7.55 and 8.0 would longer than it has ever been and no one wants that just to appease the very loud vocal minority of savage raiders.
