Maybe just maybe despite my phobia it’s ff as a whole is my comfort franchise. I mean there’s something wrong with you if you can’t be nice at all. But that’s being too nice to you. Having a phobia is nothing new. There are other things I fear heights are one but I can avoid jumping puzzles unlike those that show up in dungeons. If people like you could accept that I may sit out if one fight in an alliance a mob or two in a dungeon then I wouldn’t be asking for this sort of thing.

It’s also my only social life since I’m disabled so it’s not gonna be something I can just drop especially since most of my friends live across the world. Not that I really had to defend myself here to you but maybe it might teach you some manners

Earlier games in the franchise I can’t recall a spider like monster at all. I haven’t played before 6 and I’m only part way through. But the point is if there was they didn’t resemble them or as I was a teen my phobia wasn’t quite as bad back then as it is now

At some level, this is like saying, "The Lord of the Rings movies are awesome, but... why does Shelob exist?"

Spiders are an archetypical RPG enemy. The very first installment in the FF franchise, before it was even a franchise, had spiders. Many, color-swapped spiders, in fact.

Like, yeah, I get it, I have my partner relocate or otherwise dispose of every spider I spot in our apartment. But in the context of the Final Fantasy and FFXIV, spiders and spider-like things are nothing new.

Neither are phobias. In fact, arachnophobia far pre-dates SquareSoft.

You got shot, and you're bleeding out. "It's nothing new, go deal with it."
