Actually, coming to think of it, it might be an ego issue, you have all these weapons, but its nothing special now, because everyone is doing it either by legit or mana burn. Just like levelling is nothing special, made people who did it a different way feel un-special.

We don't care about what others people do after it's already been done 1000 times, there is nothing special about that at all. When you get server #1, that's special. Even if n00bs don't abuse exploits, they just wait for SE to nerf it for them anyway like they did with DH and Ifrit and Moogle and every other "new content". So you can burn your heart content and that has no affect on what we achieved. But don't go pretend that something Yoshi P said was an exploit to be a legitimate way of doing things, because it's simply not true.
