All we know is Yoshi also loves PVP, and there is that PVP Arena, I feel it is going to be very much like XI's Ballista, and not much more than that, for now.

There will be no open world PVP or "PKing" and PVP will always be an after thought, also it is likely the developers will (and likely already have) put themselves in shacks with bad engine development, even in 2.0 there will be animation locks and prone mover-ability, along with lack of jumping which may come.

There is only really 2 games doing PVP right imo but thats for different reasons and even those have their faults, 1 is TERA, its huge Pro is its huge, huge dedication to PVP with Guild vs Guild, Open World PVP, with optional servers and lots of battle arenas, but no Hot Joins and lots of animation lock, then there is GuildWars 2, with epic hot join like Xbox Live, its huge server vs server vs server and its insanely fluid animation engine that has ZERO animation locks, and its fluid jumping system, tho it lacks graphical quality and variety.

How XIV will handle it, is still tightly knit down, it will also be AFTER 2.0 as far as im aware. So at least 2013 before it arrives.
