How to have fun healing in normal content?

As a DPS doing mostly level 100 content, I really don't need you. Idk how healers keep enjoying the game. I mean, about a year ago I started eating avoidable damage to "have more uptime" and to literally give you guys something to do. My plan for 8.0 is to actually run the entire expansion without a healer, since SE made you guys 100% obsolete in casual content.
Idk, just ask DPS to eat as much avoidable damage as they can so you can feel alive again.



This is an interaction between me and a healer in "The Underkeep" pretty much 5 minutes ago. Just so this poor WHM could stop casting glare for a second. But again, even if they didn't heal me before the next raid wide, I could've just popped the 800 potency second wind or bloodbath and be back at full HP long before the next raid wide happens...


I know phys ranged dps have a LOT to complain about, but nobody got fucked over worse than you guys. Healers in normal content are just... unnecessary at this point. I'd honestly just switch to a different job at this point.


Edit to add: Actually, I just looked at forbidden knowledge and I DID pop bloodbath when I took the hit out of reflex. "I shouldn't punish the healer for my own failings" is my thought process. Honestly? I think bad players and players who INTENTIONALLY take damage in normal content are REWARDING healers by giving them something to do. I feel so sorry for you, I wish you were needed in casual content. But because SE caters to the worst players in the world you get to cast your one damage spell and your DoT every 30 seconds and that's it. Wanna heal? Play Savage or Ultimates, otherwise I hope you enjoy pressing 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1 over and over and over.

On a more serious note, the only time I had any fun in normal content are usually in rare Alliance Raids where people tend to forget mechanics and start eating stuffs. On RARER occasions, I'd get 18+ clowns together forming a clownfest. Yes, that's when I would had any fun at all, in normal contents. The downside of this, you're going to spend more time on waiting more than actually playing the game because AR roulette really favor CT raids over everything else.

If only that's true. It's still a lot of 1 2 1 1 1 1 1 1 1. On all four healers.

The current healers are designed to help job dev think less of the job so they can look for another job to gut duty finder queue pops above all else so that Warrior, Black Mage, and Viper can press their buttons.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people forget to press those because after the 50th Glare in a row you just turn your brain off completely.

I occasionally had it happen on Warrior. Savage fight on farm (like 20th weekly kill farm), rotation only requiring marginally more brain power than Glare spam, completely zoned out from boredom, didn't press Arm's Length because I was mindlessly spamming 1-2-3-1-2-4-Fell Cleave and went flying.
