This is all amazing, but the average WoW player isnt going to care because it doesnt have anything to do with gear drops or increasing ilevel. Its great systems, wrong crowd.http://www.youtube.com/shorts/7M8JpskdUIc
The reported housing limit is 10k, but the most complex build someone could muster during the test for invited players was 2k.
And you can add extra floors manually
And you will NOT lose your house if you aren't subscribed
You think any of these features could be added to FFXIV?
And how large do you think the addition of housing item slots will be when it arrives.
Is the placement of items and the clunky system too late to fix or too arduous for the devs or is there a future there too?
They are called Endeavors. These special Neighborhood events, planned being cycled through monthly, change the visuals of Neighborhoods and have you perform tasks (scaling with your Neighborhood size) in order to complete a common goal.Reading that you have to participate in monthly events as I understand it in order to unlock more features for your house means it is possible that there is FOMO. Of course the FFXIV housing can use some updates to make it better and of course the housing perk in World of Warcraft where you don't lose your house by unsubscribing is also nice. But I will say that one thing that XIV has going forward is you have your whole house and you don't need to participate in events to unlock things for it (building wise).
Finishing them also gives you a special currency to buy decorations from that chosen theme if you choose to get them for your own house as well.
There is also a personal housing track which people guess will be a seasonal one that changes between major content patches, so there likely will be FOMO involved.

If it's one thing I'm grateful to Dawntrail and current era WoW for... it's that it pushed the FFXIV community at large to quit with all the apologetics, to quit making excuses and justifying the shortcomings of Yoshida-san and CBU3, and to quit justifying and making excuses for the shortcomings they have left hanging in this game for well over a decade. Spaghetti code, lack of qualified personnel, and cost are not acceptable excuses anymore; 4~5 month patch cycles and 2.5~3 year expansion cycles are not acceptable anymore.
I love to see it.
Hopefully, the community keeps pushing and pushing harder, and hopefully people like Yuzu stay on their *** 24/7 and don't let Yoshida-san and CBU3 get a moments peace.
Maybe then they'll stop being too comfortable, stop resting on their laurels, and get back to competing.

IDK about that. WoW has had a very long history, with expansions and backlash much worse than we've had in Dawntrail, and people still stick by it because they see Azeroth as some kind of home.
As many perks as WoW has now.... I used to play WoW a long time ago, and I don't wanna go back, I hope to myself that when my interest in FFXIV ends, it'll be the final MMO I play.
FFxiv devs sadly won't do anything about it. They most certainly won't change to how sub and house works because this is one of their best incomes. Considering that bots and farming FC's have loads of accounts.
