Interior size change is going to be awessssooome.
WAR don't get changes because they don't need changes. They only need more enemies to cleave.
Once this feature goes live, anyone ignoring the small plots will look like a complete fool.
They will regret it once all the small plots are snapped up.

Mhm, that's why I'm trying to convince a few friends and people here to grab a small now to be ready in the worst case scenario they're unable to upgrade to a larger plot before the interior expansion arrives. They are also on the mindset of medium/large or nothing and once the interior expansion arrives, smalls are going to become much more competitive.
My only issue with smalls is the outsides are too limited for anything meaningfull most of the time and it's not really fair.Mhm, that's why I'm trying to convince a few friends and people here to grab a small now to be ready in the worst case scenario they're unable to upgrade to a larger plot before the interior expansion arrives. (Also that the top floor is just slightly bigger than half the bottom floor)

Yep, now that the first couple waves of auto-demo (on NA at least) have thinned out the supply, it’s going to be a nightmare to even get a small again. Before auto-demo was turned back on, I saw bids for smalls in the 20-30 range, even more for popular smalls.
Anyone on the fence about it, just consider: soon you’ll be able to have whatever size interior you want, you’ll get a nice L-shaped yard instead of M-L’s boring front rectangle, and most of the housing skins look cuter on a small. (Admittedly I may be biased… lol)
For the original point of the thread though, the last thing I want to see in XIV is player landlords. lol
They should make either the trees bigger or the items more voluptuous , if they gonna keep the limit

I agree, the only thing you can do to get a bit more space is to use the minimalist design, it gets rid of the area under the stairs giving you around 10 percent more space to decorate but I honestly want them to make smalls have three floors, that would make them a bit more attractive until the interior expansion arrives.
The best way to deal with the limited space issue is to have a major overhaul of all housing zones. They would keep the same layout but expand all sides so that every plot could fit a mansion so you're able to upgrade a small to a mansion. This would make all plots viable in terms of having a mansion. They should also give you the option to upgrade the yard to the size of a mansion but allow you to keep a medium or small house so you have more space in the yard. For existing smalls, their plots would be surrounded by vegetation and more until you upgrade to a medium or large plot. That way, it doesn't get in the way of existing plots and their decorations if people choose to keep their smaller plots.
PS: This game doesn't need landlords, just provide dynamic wards like WoW is implementing or break up Dynamis and send those worlds to the other big three data centers so people would move and have housing without leaving their data center.
They did but it's exclusive to Mogstation Q_Q

This is exactly why we also have "inventory issues" and cannot get things like a crafting bag. No one would be spending money on retainers. SE is very monetization heavy, it's just a different kind so it's not as apparent to most. They just keep creating problems and then charging us for a solution

I have a friend coming back to FFXIV this week
I told him to grab a small plot in the Goblet, and I even offered to give him 4 million gil if he wanted to move to a better ward later.
He got it.
No contest.
Just one bid.
This is on Leviathan, which is considered a high population server.
With a minimalist interior, even a small plot gives more than enough space for decorating.
