based takecame back to this thread after a week. still a skill issue btw. my final two cents tho:
the tank's job is to tank and dps. the healer's job is to heal and dps. the dps' job is to dps and use their defensive/heal cooldowns to support the party where necessary.
and it's everyone's job to finish the dungeon quickly and efficiently to the beat of their ability. slow pulling wastes resources. the dps and healer are an extension of the tank's health bar, a shield if you will. if nobody dies, you stand to gain a lot. YPYT is a reportable offense for a reason. I'd rather have a competent DRG with Blood Weapon and Arm's Length prepull and apply the slow + bide some time than have a tank who's being a wuss about pulling more than one pack. dungeons can be done with 2 dps and either one heal or tank. if the healer is fine with it, good. they don't need you and they can and will report + kick you for griefing.
I don't disagree that it's bait btw but there's way too many people in this thread who seem earnest about it so I felt the need to clarify lolol
Midcore is when you take a look at an Ultimate, nod along sagely to a guide and decide to do it when you get 12 months of uninterrupted vacation, which is to say: never.
Aren't you quite the hero tank — bravely standing still while a DPS gets mauled, all in the name of “teaching a lesson.”
“If you spank it, you tank it” — cute slogan, but I didn’t realize we were running a dungeon and a bumper-sticker factory.
Sure, it might feel like a righteous victory for a second, but all it does is stall the run, waste everyone’s time, and give the healer a side quest they didn’t ask for. If the point is to finish the dungeon faster, maybe “tanking the mobs” works better than “tanking the grudge.”
The tank doesn't need to say anything because this game has active battle logging anyway. It'll be obvious if the GM reviews them, and that is that.
Have you ever heard of the saying about not making assumptions?Aren't you quite the hero tank — bravely standing still while a DPS gets mauled, all in the name of “teaching a lesson.”

I never said I don't try to take the aggro. I just said it's not my fault if I'm coincidentally too late to stop a terrible fate.
Well.... actually, I guess I answered my own question. Nevermind.
If your point is simply “sometimes I can’t grab everything in time,” fair enough — nobody’s perfect. But let’s not dress that up as some grand philosophy about letting people die on principle. That’s not me assuming, that’s just me reading what you actually wrote.
It's a lot more fun when some of these "You Pull, You Tank" heads are writing out the report for you in chat. Do these idiots not know it's an actionable offence?
Let that sink in while a GM throws them in the time-out chair in GM jail.
tanking is just too hard apparently for some people
Have you ever heard the phrase two wrongs don't make a right? (Even if pulling ahead is largely a non issue for most competent tank players) is it that hard to just get on with the dungeon if they pull ahead of you? If you can reasonably catch up to them its still your job at the end of the day to get aggro, why not just be the bigger person and tank anyway? what are you trying to prove by turning your stance off in a situation where the pull would have been fine anyway. Seems to me you want to make some statement about how it's only the tanks job to pull more then it actually being the case in reality.
For someone who likes to Insult people based of their characters in game while also pretending to be some sort of victim because people pull ahead of you... I'm starting to think maybe your the toxic one with "bad etiquette"
