More Universal *Knight* Armor transmogs

First before I begin, I want to say I love Final Fantasy as a whole (as well as FFXIV) and I love you guys Square Enix. You guys always put so much effort into trying to give us awesome games and all us fans deeply appreciate it!

Now, I would like to request and petition for more universal real KNIGHT armor sets. My personal character, Sir Jeddax, is a character that I based to be a knight in every game I play, especially Final Fantasy 14. I’ve mained the classes Paladin, and Dark Knight for a long time and tried the new class Viper, to which I love very much deeply. However, the one real problem I’m having with it is the sense of transmog aesthetic. There is the Ward’s Knight armor set, which is alright, but the problem is that it doesn’t have a helmet in the set. And the kicker is that there really aren’t many helmets, that are knightly, that work with Viper.

So essentially Square Enix, I am humbly asking that, when you’d have the time, if you could make some more universal knight armor sets or transmogs. It’d definitely be cool to maybe see some Dark Souls themed knight sets too maybe. But anyway, thank you for your time and consideration, and even more, thank you for making an awesome game for us fans!

Speaking as a fellow knight roleplayer, I can definetely appreciate the sentiment! For the longest time I used the Adamantite Helm of Fending for my PLD, which I think your'e already using too, so again your have good taste! There are a couple of possiblities that sort of match what you're looking for for a more knightly look for VPR in the helm department though in the game:

Firstly, there's the Onion Helms (the Onion Helm, Red Onion Helm and Peregrine Helm) from 1.0 which as the name suggests are based on the design of the Onion Knight Job from FFIII. The Red Onion Helm alas is tank specific equipment and is level 50 equippable, but the other two are level 1 and 30 respectively and all classes can equip them. Unfortunately, the original Onion Helm is only attainable by tracking down an unused item code voucher for it (it was included as a bonus with the Collector's Edition of version 1.0, which is now hard to find and retails for ridiculous amounts on sites like eBay for this reason and probably do not work anyway due to already having been redeemed). If you can find a working code though, then the code is redeemable still on the Mogstation (I have this helm myself due to being a 1.0/Legacy player).

The Red Onion Helm and the Peregrine Helm have a very low chance of being gained through retainer Quick Ventures (I've had a few Red Onion Helms brought back by retainers over the years myself, but never seen the Peregrine Helm unfortunately). But if you're lucky enough to get one then the Peregrine Helm would probably be the best choice of this three for your VPR.

Another alternative is the Helm of Light, which is also level 1 and all classes can equip, and is based on Yoshitaka Amano's artwork of the Warrior of Light from the original FF (this helm design wise goes with the Labyrinth of the Ancients tank gear, and is identical to the gear Elidibus wears as his cosplay costume during his battle in the Seat of Sacrifice trial). If you can look past the garish colours and the horns that stick out, this does sort of look knightly in a fantasy sort of way. It's gained through a code that came with the Collector's Edition of ARR, but can also be attained still through purchasing a 'Deluxe Digital Upgrade' for your account for ARR on the Mogstation, which will grant you the helm.

A third possiblity (and in keeping with gear designs from past FF games), is the Baron Helm, which is based on Yoshitaka Amano's design of Cecil's DRK helmet appearence in FFIV. Again this is level 1 equippable by all classes. Like the Helm of Light, this came originally with the Collector's Edition of HW, but can be still attained through purchasing a 'Deluxe Digital Upgrade' for HW to your account on the Mogstation. This piece really does go well with DRK naturally, but could definetely be a fit for VPR too.

I think there are some other helms equippable by all classes but I can't remember them at this time, but if I do find something I'll let you know!

It would defenitly be nice.

While I probably won't use them much myself, heard from a lot of people playing casters and healers they would like access to some more armored and 'actually fitting for Frontline combat' (their words, Paraphrased) gear for their characters.

Getting more all classes plate armor sets would allow them that. And Potentially let us have some fun memes and jokes when the Tank loads in in their beach Outfit glam while the Caster looks like they Just stepped out of Trial by combat in ishgard.

There are a number of solid sets in the game, but unfortunately they've not been given their graphical update yet. Once they do, there's a whole swathe of things especially from the Heavensward era that may finally look good.

Have you bought the old PvP sets? Some of them are full plate armor from the PvP crystal shops and are just for glams.

Y'all know I've been in threads talking about my love for the modern / tech wear glams and whatnot. But I also want this guy to get what he wants too.

At the end of the day, I want all my WoL / WoD friends to be able to express themselves as they like with various glams. That expression is part of what makes the game more fun and more enjoyable for all of us.

I'm with the OP. Having more knight-like sets that could be worn on any job would be a nice bonus. I'm thankful for the few PVP armor sets we have been given that can be worn by all jobs.

The PvP armor sets from past series are quite nice. I really dig the Fierce Tyrant's set, especially with how well it dyes. It's too bad that a couple of them are unavailable at the moment for those that missed their chance to get them, but they will eventually be added to the trophy shop.

I really want a middle level armor for Red Mage, half plate or less than that rather than the full plate PvP gear or generic caster soft flimsy clothing. Swordsman + caster has been a combo for a lot of knight captains in quite a few different IPs... it pains me having Red Mage locked to caster gear >.>
