I think the game actually has quite a few knight themed sets already. Granted I have the benefit of playing tank, which gets the most heavily armored outfits.
The biggest issue I have is that those all come with capes, I honestly can't remember the last time they released plate armor without a cape stuck to it.
And I've been saying it since probably early Endwalker but the capes in XIV are just not good.
They don't look good, move awkwardly (because there aren't actually any cloth physics on the cape and it's just rigged to your spine) and they clip horribly with any race that has a tail.
This makes most of the knight chestpieces completely useless to me, even if the armor itself looks decent.
Stop it with the capes.

Well tbh and fair, a lot of knights had capes. Especially heroic knights. Knights with capes often gave off a sense of hope and heroism to a degree. It’s why a lot of games that have knights also have capes on the armor. Having the cape actually stood for something and not just a look.I think the game actually has quite a few knight themed sets already. I know that they were a thing, but usually they were used for bad weather protection or ceremonial purposes. You wouldn't want a giant piece of cloth flapping around in actual combat, it can get in the way or even provide potential leverage to your opponent.Well tbh and fair, a lot of knights had capes. My issue is also more with capes specifically in XIV because they just aren't good and because they are attached to the chestpiece you do not even have the option to get rid of them. On top of that they are on almost every single piece of fending armor since late Shadowbringers.
I'd take a surcoat over a cape any day.

Day: 6 of petitioning for more Universal Knight armor sets for all classes. Definitely wanting more armor, especially if Dark Souls themed.
SE: What? Even more streetwear glam you say?
Say no more!
SE wants you to please look forward to more hoodies, beanies, and FUBU stuff.
Upvote!
I've always loved knights stories and aesthetics since I was a child!
Though I've basically given up on a good looking knightly glamour and have accepted arcanaut and cryptlurker for a Victorian style.
Therefore, all my support for this cause!
