I still experience this, personally. However, I play in the NA region.
Whenever I've played in the EU region over the years, it's been pretty toxic in everything from dungeons to trials. People in (easy) trials were attacked for their damage output, while a returning tank was berated and attacked the entire way through Heroes' Gauntlet to the point I felt deeply uncomfortable and felt like it was so bad that my silence might be seen as associating myself with them, so I tried to sort of say something neutral but comforting to mitigate it a bit... but it was really bad. And that was just when I logged into EU for a day a few years ago. It happened a lot in roulettes.
Don't get me wrong, there are lots of very nice, the most nicest people in the EU region and that may even be the majority, but a certain percentage of people there are the sweaty or blunt types that will not hold back even if they're breaking the rules, to the point you can rather frequently come across them in a roulette. Some of it may be cultural or due to language barriers skipping the pleasantries as well.
The few times I have gone to play in the EU region, I have noticed this as well. For context, I have also tanked for 10 years playing this game. Nobody outruns me in the NA region EVER. I am as fast as you can possibly get, and I even have no doubt that my example has been observed by people and copied by aspiring tanks given how long I've been doing it.However in dungeons recently there has been so many cases of DPS players using every mobility skill they have to rush ahead of me in the dungeon, pulling packs
But when I went to the EU region, I noticed a difference. Despite that it is hard to outrun me, some of them sort of caught up to me and still attempted to outpace me. In practice, the best they did was got at the same pace as me, but it was certainly not how people behave in the NA region.
Don't get me wrong, people will get impatient and run ahead in the NA region sometimes, but they generally do this only if the tank is actually slow and not pulling much. In EU they're less likely to even respect the fact you're going fast and want you to go yet faster somehow and will still try to beat you at pulling mobs.
Anyway, my advice to minimize this behaviour is to do big pulls as a tank, press Sprint immediately after battle ends so it lasts 20 seconds, time the AoE to hit the enemies as you pass through them so you don't need to stop, click enemies in the list that don't have a red icon and hit Provoke if you missed them, and if an enemy goes on a healer/DPS leave it and continue sprinting (you can pick it up later).
If they say something rude in the chat, report it so that a GM warns them. It's hard to judge actions but if they say something rude or hurtful to you, then GMs take it seriously.
