Then those mentors who have a 100 tank should make sure they know what shirking and stance dancing are. It's not remotely hard as an OT to control your aggro and still stay second in case the MT goes down.

Idk what this has to do with anything? The OP is complaining about not getting to MT, which he is not entitled to just by the virtue of being a sprout. If the mentor wants to tank, as in move the boss around and such, then they are allowed to do that, too.

99% of time mentors just don't read chat and do more dmg than OP, though.
