Ultimates is a scripted game, you know what is coming next and if not your cactbot will tell you that....

PvP is far more fast paced if anything meaning you need to be on the mission and you are not knowing what is coming next....

Because so much is happening when you're waiting for an uncontested crystal to spawn and when you're hitting that uncontested crystal for a good minute with no enemy in sight. You really gotta be on your toes when you die and respawn and autowalk back to your team there could be anyone waiting in the bush for you! You literally cannot type a single word there's always something happening!!! You're literally trolling if you say anything at all

You need to look out 100% of the time, sitting idle by is not productive even if it is waiting fro a crystal, if you got something important to say in chat, make it related to what is going in the game, can be a chatterbox outside of any zone all the way one want to.... engaging other players is high priority and each time it is an unique experience in PvP, in PvE related content it is not, but probably still would be frowned upon if am a chatterbox doing ultimates, be it in text form or blabbering about 10 different things on a voIP disturbing the rest of the team when focus is gold.

I guess this ain't the place for me then. Glad I only spent $60 before figuring that out.

Don't worry, it's not the place for more than half of the playerbase, as SE has lost more than 1/2 of the player pop in just a single year alone. Many of them are longstanding vets and, take it from me as I've seen a lot of MMO's go in the toilet over the years, most don't come back. If you enjoy the game then keep playing, otherwise don't make the same mistake everyone else did and get invested in something that will never be good again.

Uhm. The main reason you can't say anything at all in CC is because chat is disabled? If you're talking about Shatter, who gives a tinker's cuss, it's a PvE mode.

Shatter is definately not PvE mode, it has an objective to kill the crystals, but you really need to smash up players a lot to win and you need your approach to be in a position so you not get stuck in a crossfire.

Most overwhelming wins in any Frontline, with a few exceptions of course, is by taking down the opponents and stealing points from them.

Seize and Danshig Naadam are different though, as the objectives there and being able to keep them can give victory being tipped the underdog of the 3 teams but you still need to do PvP and this more this better.

Sure, Shatter should have a significant PvP element, but many players seem unaware of this in practice.
