Given how FT's entry system was initially designed, I find it hard to imagine that it was not intended to cater to a broader audience. The only sufficient explanation I could imagine is that they intended for such content to last over a significant amount of time, allowing more players to become involved in FT over time.

Even with their explanation during the LL, it seems like there was just a real disparity between what they planned for and what was designed (I can only assume these are two different teams that didn't talk to each other).

I cannot imagine how anyone would think FT was ever intended for the wider player base. Yet, the initial entry method is exactly that. And, why would you not cap off OC with a raid like CLL? And so, really, there is nothing for the casual player base to level up and use their phantom jobs in.

So, what is the point in OC, for the casual player base? There is no accessible raid to use your phantom jobs in. You can't level up your normal jobs. Sure, it should be easier to get the demiatma in OC but, after that, there is no incentive to get any further relics from doing OC content. The rewards, apart from the Twirl emote, are far too easily obtainable. So, even if you were going for those, you will be done in a relatively short amount of time. Gold farming, if you want that glam, is devolved to going on WAR and spamming cannon shots. Last time i did that, 5min in and I was falling asleep.

As a non advanced-raid player, I think I spent more time in Cosmic Exploration than in OC. And yet, I am not into FFXIV craft jobs. I liked Bozja and spent a lot of time in it but for OC, I just went to the max level and really never came back since then. At least people are back for PVP

I had a level 8 Bozja Hali alt that I decided to reactivate for relic and leveled her to 10 for Castrum. Castrum was a blast and I then went on to unlock Delibrium and likewise it was a awesome. Did that with a party finder of 5 people and unlocked Zandor. She is now 15 and I'll be working on Field Notes (real ones) which obviously is quite a time sink.

Refreshing to have multiple fates up with no feeling to have to rush to them and they are good enough to level my character apart from CE's which I will do selectively now based on what they might drop for sure in Southern Front and Zandor. CE's in my view are more fun and not just aoe spam fests whcih seems to be the new meta for them and dungeon bosses as well.

Essences are so much more fun as well given I don't really care much for the sub roles they are asking us to level in CS. Farming essences it also fun given I love to use reflect and spend time there doing that.

I don't know if I'll go back to Crescent any time soon. Demiatma are not worth the effort to me to take other alts through that process. Just too frustrating. I'll wait for the next patch for relic to see what is needed and how that might (hopefully) make the zone more fun. This relic is in my opinion quite a downgrade in fun from either of the previous ones.

FT maybe one day but not interested atm. I'll go with a discord like I did with BA and DRS. The 3 death rule seems pretty intimidating for me given what I've seen from those streaming the content.
