According to a reddit post, the Estimated dates for 7.3 and beyond are:

Patch 7.3 release date: August 2025

Patch 7.4 release date: December 2025

Patch 7.5 release date: April 2026

New Expansion 8.0 release date: Fall 2026

This aligns with what we know about the patch schedule.

I think more likely we will get 7.4 in January 2026 and 7.5 somewhere around late May early June 2026.

Either the expansion will release November 2026 or after March 2027.

What I worked out recently based on how Dawntrail release played out:

• August 12th 2025 = 7.3
• 27th February - 2nd March 2026 = NA Fanfest
• Late May/Early June 2026 = EU Fanfest
• Late July/Early August 2026 = JP Fanfest

After the JP Fanfest, it took 6 additional months to release Dawntrail. That could actually put it at February 2027 unless they make a big effort to release it at their former schedule pre-Endwalker, which would make it release in November.

The pessimist in me can't help but wonder just how many more players will be lost through being unwilling to wait so long for new content.

Yoshida talked some about DT being their return to expansions always releasing in summer, but 8.0 releasing in summer 2027 sounds like financial suicide.

That would legit be a 12-14 month gap between 7.5 and 8.0 unless they speed up development and release it the same month as JP fanfest.
