Difficult experience in Forked Tower – a reminder to respect public content

I mean I know you are saying that mockingly but this returns to the idea that people are acting like discords are actively blocking entry to this content

If you just wanna go in, gawk at the scenery then leave it shouldn’t be that hard to force forked open with equally interested randoms in any of the 17 instances that have auroral mirages up

I can imagine how people might perceive that Discords are doing precisely that, particularly given the frustration and disappointment currently pervading the non-raiding community.

After the fiasco of CAR, Cosmic Explo, and now FT, the number of interested randoms in any content in FFXIV has fallen off a cliff.

So in that sense the problem has solved itself.

I mean that is not remotely the discords fault and I’d argue some of that is even developer playerbase mismatch the playerbase is attributing to each other.

Cosmic was totally fine as casual content. It makes sense that A ranks are harder, not engaging with the higher A ranks doesn’t block you from anything. Just because content is causal doesn’t mean 100% of it should be totally accessible to the lowest common denominator. Cosmic struck a really good balance there as literally the only thing not accessible to super casual people is the achievement for Golding every mission. Like even the “of the stars” titles can be earned from B ranks if you want. As for chaotic this seems to have devolved into casuals angry that the high end community was prioritised over them without realising the high end community doesn’t like chaotic either and yet somehow this is the high end community’s fault?

As for forked itself that just circles back to the original problem. If you can’t get enough people even randomly to force forked open then how can you also be mad at the discords for filling squares own void of content design

Last time I checked on Aether only Cactuar had finished Cosmic. Adamantoise has abandoned it. I don't think it remotely reached "fine."

I suspect the fundamental problem is that SE is not listening (else after the reaction to CAR, FT would never have been released), and angry WoLs have to sling their fireballs at someone.

Neither you nor I know whether, in any particular instance, players are "sniping" or simply trying to enter public content.

Fortunately for you and yours, most people don't read the forums. Including apparently SE. Because if most players did, the current firestorm would look like a sparkler next to the Sun.

What many "snipers" will experience is being told to get off the platform or leave the instance entirely, because the important people have just showed up and are on a schedule for their next reclear.

Having been denied the ability to interact with FT, and been given bugger all else to do of any merit for nearly 12 months, they may very well conclude that the only way they can actually interact with FT is to scupper as many Discord runs as possible.

Hey maybe they will even start their own Discord. Something like FF14FFT. And you will be well and truly forked.

Adding on to that: Nothing is stopping those organised discord cliques to... step of the platform themselves and find a new instance if they really really really do not want to deal with those evil people standing on THEIR platform in THEIR instance that THEY claimed a week ago.

The absolute elitism boggles my mind. And is a reason why I will refuse to even attempt FT this time around. I still dont get why they would put Ex/Savage/Anything higher than CLL levels of difficulty into the PvE mode clearly meant for the more casual crowd who has no interest in watching 3 hour videos, memorising 30 different raid plans and reserving 6 to 10 hours for their FT run a day...
