Let’s not pretend like the behavior of bringing a tankbuster into OP is in any way good.
Fact is this content is utterly trash but the borderline elitist behavior of some (like the guy calling people „leeches“ here) is far worse.

These raiders could have also just dropped a Discord link into chat and ask to join them

Okay so I drop a discord link to you, I find you don’t have geo time mage or thief levelled despite that being the spots that were taken. You also have never been inside this dungeon despite trying to prog bridges in this group.

Do you take responsibility and leave considering you are mismatched for this group or what…..expect them to carry you

I’m a former BA host and I would always defend portal snipers and allow them into my run and do a rerun for the person who missed their spot. But modern BA is a joke. Forked isn’t. If they dropped a discord link to OP would OP have been able to meet their standards for what job to run and what strats to use and meet their prog point, if not I don’t think it’s unfair to exclude (though not assasinate them)

As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

The funny thing is, I've seen savage party finder groups do exactly that, and what makes that work is the fact that there's some shared understanding of how the instance is going to play out: the strat, the raid plan, whatever you want to call it.

It sounds to me like the problem with Forked Tower is that premades are trying their hardest to work against the free-for-all entry system. Forked Tower doesn't have Baldesion Arsenal's fifty check boxes of, "Are you sure you understand that this is hard content??" And even if it did, random folk might show up anyway, so premades need a plan.
    "Please don't snipe."
Comes across as rude and exclusionary. On the other hand:
"Hey, there's a group of us here who are all trying to join together. We've got a couple spots free, but this is like savage-level content, so if you wanna read up and join us in voice chat, that'd be great."

    or

"Hey, there's a full group of 48 here. We're hoping to go in all together, but if you want to join us in future runs, check out {link}. We'd love to have you the next time around."
Apparently, we can all use shout chat to spam venue ads and carrot locations, but heavens forbid someone use shout chat to build up anything around Forked Tower.

    Something else I thought of:

I happened join a Southern Horn instance where Forked Tower was already in progress, with what looked to be a premade from another datacenter. From out of nowhere, "Can y'all kill the FATE at <pos>?" There's no FATE on the map, and most of the instance is stuck in a CE anyway. This is followed by three people using what appears to be the same macro to spam a wall of text whose only potentially useful information is "<pos>." We finally finish up the CE, and a few of us make it over. I mistakenly go to the top of a nearby structure, because hey, surely this is where the FATE will appear. "Has anyone pulled the FATE???" There's still no FATE, but someone finally figures out that what is meant is "random, unique looking trash mob." It's a slog, because there's like none of us there, because no one has a reason to be there.

Apparently, for all the planning that's required, it never dawned upon someone that, "Recruitment strategy for people not in Forked Tower to go do a thing" might be a good idea:
"Hey, there's a full group of 48 here. We're hoping to go in all together, and if we make it far enough in, there's going to be some trash mob outside that you could help take care of for us. The rewards aren't much, but the only other way to get them is in Forked Tower, so that's at least something."
