Housing Interior Size Upgrade

I'm also holding off finishing my house and have saved my gil to get an instant upgrade once the housing update drops.

Double the limit seems reasonable, but I'm also hoping for more. I doubt it would be WoW dimensions though. From a technical standpoint WoW was able to get "new stuff", while SE might still have "old stuff" to work with. So I'm keeping my hopes low, but everything bigger than double is welcoming.

Speaking of WoW, I know there are different threads for different aspects (like the ward stuff) but the extra rooms and everything looks very promising too. In an ideal world, SE would keep the S/M/L model but give the chance to have a modular system where you could enhance your house with rooms of your choice. Like spend gil to give your S house an additional room which could be a tower, a hallway, a rectangular room, a balcony etc.

I'm sure this was mentioned before already, but it just crossed my mind.

My house is also incomplete. I decided to go all out with the partitioning and architectural details and such thinking the limit increase would be this patch so it's, at best, halfway finished. I haven't decided if I want to upgrade my interior or not since I kind of like the setup I have, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it lol.

Mine is incomplete where I only decorated the main and top floor of my home in LB while the basement is empty until the new limit arrives. I'm hoping it's double or more as Blutkatze said, it would go a long way to realizing my vision because depending on the new limit, I plan for an elevated indoor garden above my main lobby and the existing rooms get much more detailed. I hope they announce and show something soon such as the next LL and I hope it's a pleasant surprise since I'm sure WoW announcing their housing has made SE pay attention. Let's hope Yoshi P has something in the works and surprise us all but I'm also keeping my expectations low for now.

Just waiting for the item limit myself… might redo part of my upstairs and the entire basement once I see how generous the item increase is. But I like the small layout, so I’ll be keeping that, unless they eventually add some new and interesting layouts. It’d be great to see them go nuts with it, and try all different kinds of layouts, but probably not any time soon.

I hope so, I've been waiting since last year when they announced it and my home in LB still remains incomplete. I also hope the the new limit is generous with double the limit being ideal when WoW is going to have a 10k limit soon.

When my FC got a large plot about a year ago we knew the item increase was coming at some point so we used all the slots to make the bottom floor very detailed, but the rest of the house is empty. I'm looking forward to finally finishing it. I'm assuming at least 200 more slots for a large but double would be fantastic.

Hopefully the mismatching interior/exterior feature is next patch as well!

Pretty sure he said "couple patches later" and this was during 7.1 live letter.

But as always, seeing is believing... It wouldn't surprise me if they withhold it until 8.0.

No housing updates in the most recent LL.

That being said, if they end up going with this setup, I hope they'll some day make an indoor Striking Dummy furnishing. That's like the only thing that makes the extra space for Mediums and Larges matter to me.

I think the big thing to understand is sometimes folks are going to get ahead of themselves and jump to the most favorable interpretation. Translating Corporate-speak from another language becomes extra tricky when you consider the way other cultures use the same terms as north Americans but can be in another context - a good example is the old school japanese "You're/how very sincere" is generally not a good thing when said.

We got 1 patch left before the housing update is late again; personally I am excited but am tempering my expectations - SE right now needs FF XIV to be VERY healthy to survive some very tough times ahead as FF XIV generates the lionshare of the companies revenue; doubly so because the next expansion needs to do Endwalker level or atleast Shadowbringers level success.
