You open the door theres nothing in sight. You close the door wondering whats in sight. But lets be honest its probably gonna just let you down.

This is cosplay glamour, based off of a FF5 character, so there was never a world where it would have been unisex. This means the gender locking didn't give you the tights, but it did take them away from other players who wanted them.

That's really not my problem. I'm not here to play someone personalize ff14 game. Gender locked is nice for fashion reasons. Yet making tons of gender neutral gear leaves boring ideas. My personal take keep gender locked or make a button to toggle fashion between male female.

Outside of dancer fashion we have been at some of the highest amount of gender neutral items in the game with Dawntrail. And excluding the Yuweyawata pants debacle, I think this has probably some of the best designed gear since Shadowbringers. That's really not my problem. You don't need a gender lock to make fashion good. You need good designers to step up.
Not to mention, I know PLENTY of women playing female characters who want the less slutty options men get or the more dapper options.
The things I do for the glam...

Gear for women looking like it does in most MMOs is the reason I usually reach for a male character. If I play a tank, I want to look like a damn tank, not run around in a metal bikini. Admittedly, XIV is better with this than most other MMOs I've come across, but a lot of the female versions still get shorts and skirts for no good reason. I'm not saying we shouldn't get those at all, of course. I'd be happiest if we always got two versions of gear that work for everyone - a "reasonable" one (aka what male characters tend to get) and a "fantasy" one (the one women usually get).
While we're at it, can we also please stop giving male characters ugly potato sacks while female characters get gorgeous dresses and pretty robes? That'd be really nice.

Over half of the gear items your character is wearing right now are not gender-locked. It's possible to make feminine glams and unlock them for all players. The 2b leggings are an example of this. That's really not my problem. I'm not here to play someone personalize ff14 game. Gender locked is nice for fashion reasons. Toggles work by hiding or unhiding a portion of the model (like with hats and visors), so to do that, you would have to have an entire separate version of the costume constantly loaded. I think the most feasible thing to do is make feminine designs available to everyone from the start-- like they did with the rest of Lenna's set, with the chaotic gear, parts of the eden raids, crafted glams, and the previously mentioned national uniform of limsa.

Good thing that's not what we're asking for. We just want to be able to wear both. Nothing else, just piece of clothing.

Wooow that’s cool. Now can I wear both version on single character now?
Rhetoric aside, I shall repeat: I want players to have the choice to wear both variants (looking at you neo ishgardian set grrr…). If one keeps interpreting that request as “So you want 1 unisex gear!”, I honestly start to think misconstruing ideas eloquently to be a quality they’re specifically looking for when they hire whoever’s in charge of parsing players’ feedbacks.
EDIT: they can probably extend players’ stay in the content since now they have to grind for another set if that’s what they’re into. Hey! More reason to stay in the content!
