Drop rates (RNG) are kind of part of the MMO genre as it stands though. I mean if you really hate RNG then maybe an MMO isn't the best choice. I have little issue with it I guess because I've just accepted it as part of the genre, and to an extent the RPG genre as a whole. It's just how shit works.

That being said, I would like to see them utilize other reward systems for other content. Hamlet Defense, being a kind of arcade point-fest style content, could have utilized a reward system based on points earned to buy the rewards.

I do think, though, that they should balance the RNG out so that people don't get discouraged. Doing a ton of runs and not seeing any progress is really discouraging. The drop rate on certain things could be a little higher, regardless of lockout timers. Unless there's a guarantee of some kind of drop, I can't get behind long lockout timers. I think it would actually be worse to go through a run, have bad luck, get nothing and then be locked out for a day.
