Something I find unlikely I would want to as well would be for the devs to break away from the existing archetypes(Tank, Healer, Caster, Phys Ranged, Melee) and do something of a whole new category in itself, back in EW I had a loose idea for a "melee caster", the idea I had at the time was specifically Judge as a playable Job, using casts to write up and produce Law cards, perhaps even being able to do walking casts as if they were absentmindedly writing on a clipboard while walking around, and then needing to get in melee range to execute them, then PCT happened and works somewhat similar to the the premise I had, except my idea of Judge would be entirely unable to attack with GCDs without a stored Law card first.

A phys Healer would be interest too, Chemist is an often-asked Job that could fit that bill, though I have even less defined thoughts of how a Chemist would be like.

Time mage with a big hammer/mace as the new tank.

Chemist with a two-handed grenade launcher as the new Physical ranged.

The Corsair/pirate dream died with that abomination called Viper, as did Blitzballer when they missed it out of the "Summer vacation" expansion.

Beast master will be the first test if they CAN even design a pet class. Or will it be a "summon pet to do ability" carbon copy paste of a blue mage.

Let alone the fact that there's near nothing for non-traditional jobs to do, SE didn't even bother for BLU to have its own way of acquiring the exquisite version of its umbrella, have to do Criterion Savage to get the materials for it which BLU cannot even enter (definitely not strong enough to do) at which point how is it a BLU weapon at all when you had to acquire it with other jobs.

ShB introduced the aether cannons guarding the Crystarium, and Dawntrail remembered that those exist and imported them to the Source, so I could see some sort of ranged DPS job along the lines of "gun mage" using a hand-held aether cannon as the weapon. Perhaps that would be thematically hard to fit in with "physical" ranged dps, but all the jobs we have are using aether in some way. Laser gun go pew

MCH already charges most of their bullets with lightning aether, so another job that does it with the remaining 5 wouldn't be out of place.
