Agreed. A world shouldn't be penalized for failing a fate.
If for some dumb reason there's technical limitations for syncing (which would be real stupid), at least let the progress carry over to the next time it's available. It's not like all the drilling that was done just disappears because it failed.

There isn't even any logic to the design of these FATEs. So you're telling me, there are NPCs that are drilling as we progress and provide them with resources yet when the time comes we have to do ALL the work. We have to drill, carry the stuff back and put it in the box? I'm sorry but I feel like whoever greenlit this content should be fired because how could they ever accept this as an acceptable way to handle this content.

You're telling me that the ability to complete these FATEs are complete RNG, on Hyperion this happened in the afternoon, on a Friday, when people are working, this isn't COVID anymore, people aren't working from home so you can't just expect 900 people to drop what they are doing to log on and do this 40 minute FATE while doing work on the side. Made worse by the fact that you PUNISH you punish players for failing a FATE even if they spent the whole 40 minutes giving it the old college try and force them to wait nearly 8hrs to try again? Where is the logic in that? There is absolutely no algorithm put in place to adjust for these FATE, I'm sorry but 200 people actively doing a FATE should always be enough to complete it with time to spare in a 40 minute period, expecting 500 people at the ready to do it within a 20 minute notice is ridiculous. Again a punishment that would not be as bad if you didn't make them wait 8hrs to try again. And again, what is even the point of the timer? So you're telling me that these "FATE" to clear the debris are on a timer because reason? When in reality if you just allowed it to be it's own progression without the poorly designed "content" then guess what when people finished the progression bar, that's when it should be compelte, adding this "FATE" bloat content as content again makes no sense because you're telling me the following:

The people drilling are doing nothing, we give them resource while they just pretend to drill and then when we get enough resources we do all the work but unlike the NPC we are on a strict timer and if we fail the bunnies won't allow us to use the Mechs and for some mysterious reason Red Alert events stop occurring. It's amazing how an electromagnetic storm or meteor shower will stop because we failed to finish this FATE like it's somehow a planned event that isn't actually a Red Alert.

It's embarrassing how bad this content is and the SE team should feel ashamed that they actually thought this was something crafters and gatherers wanted, a solo experience where there is no economy designed around the trading and making of resources between others within the world to help with progression. We make a bar fill and then when bar finally fill we hope it's not work hours so we can complete the FATE and if we fail, let's punish the people who made that bar fill by removing content from the game and make them wait for the FATE to spawn again to try again.
