And all that's left is a purity of people like this that couldn't give a shit about the people next to them, as long as there are 7 other people pulling their weight in savage. Or, a concentration of people who want to tell themselves all they want is peace and harmony and its in others best interest to leave if they are unhappy, but if they could get in touch with their own motivations would realise that their real reason is the self interest of not wanting 'doomers' jarring with the comfort of their own personal delusion that 'this has happened before, and everything will be fine again like it was previously'.

I think there is something fundamental in Yoshi's thinking that he has deliberately not shared with us.

"there are only two types of gamers, 'people who overcome' or 'people who completely lack any capacity to overcome' there is no spectrum in between. So just do forgone conclusion casual. Do savage. And do ultimate for those that want to spend more time on Savage. Extremes is just there to help people find out which category they fall into, but its not real content. 7 of those every expansion, will do. If they can stick 99 totems they'll leave for savage, which is the real point. If they can't they'll give up and go back to roulettes.
I think you can see this reflected in his use of the concept of 'Resistance'. Either something has resistance or it doesn't. There are people who want resistance. And there are people who don't want to see any resistance.

I seriously don't think Yoshi has a lot of respect for casual gamers, and you can see it in XVI 16, where the difficulty modes are a game breaking afterthought that leave no challenge left what soever. It was only 'tuned' for the experiences Dark Souls action gamer.

CB3 everything you did in the past was brave and new and risky when you first did it.
The thing you need to 'keep' doing, is being brave and risky.

Variant was amazing! Fascinaing! Why can't you go back and rescue criterion by improving rewards and making it it Ex difficulty rather savage/savage+?
Why can't you rescue Chaotic by saying 'we realise the difficulty was totally wrong'. What people want is a Alliance+ Extreme- difficulty focussed using DF/RF queuing.
Why can't you rescue old alliances by tweaking them a little. Just let us see all the mechanics.
Why cant you rescue chloes and old Ex by getting everyone in the same Ex (synced echp butno minIlvl)
Why can't you rescue open zones by adding even '1' new thing after 7+ years of paper mobs and mechanic less , non-scaling fates.
Honestly for a group that is so determined to optimally do as little work as possible for maximum return, its amazing you take so little advantage of oppurunities to improve and fix what you already have.

I keep hearing about these world bosses. I've never seen one since once since Odin. Not once.
Why? you've done nothing to foster the community getting together to fight them. You've left it all up to discords groups, and you probably just want to keep that niche and optimal-meta-farming-for-high-end happy now. The people running the content... aren't even interested in the content, it just a minor means to another more important end for them.
So the rest of us if we do want to try them, will probably just find they are mindless tank and spanks once those discords get involved.

I agree.
Truth is. I really still belive if it seeds one other person to come up with one better articulated idea, that becomes an improvement it will be worth it.
I also think either this game success in once again 'fostering' a nice community or it's not worth saving.
It has to change. Not the people who play it.
It is NOT the game it used to be. (Reasons complex)
I've got not a lot positive to say though. I do the of occasion it happens. The ladies day event was great to improved. The telling of the raid story is decent.
Variant dungeons was brave and imaginative.
But yeah... uhh I do like the sound of my own voice. I do like complaining. And if none is listening... that detrimentally affects no one. It's just a game. And this is just a forum for just a game.
I don't like seeing people being personally attacked for attacking a bunch of code they are paying customers for.
And I do not like seeing add-ons change game.
The worst change is CB3 have become lazy because add-ons prop do much of it up. Worst is their influence on MarketBoard.
If people tomorrow lost all their add-ons permanently they'd leave for good.
I'm addicted to to the sound of my own whining voice. 60% of eorzeons game time is addicted to it's add-ons.

I don't like m5-8 as much as 1-4. Not nearly.
But I think they are better raids for people other than me. You can really see M8 in particular stretch out if people are not doing their DPS.
I don't like EX4 much at all. I din't know why.
But I think the early small DPS check is a great idea
I think the early DPS check in Ex3, making the final DPS check redundant, was also a great idea.
Not fixes to any of the games biggest problems.
Privacy. PF travel population decimation. The have add-ons Vs have-nots-add-ons. The Gil rich raiding community pulling the ladder up after themselves. Submarine farmers.
I'm a very "play by the rules" person . And I'm being fckd for it.
Includes I never prog lie.
If I'm even having a bad day, I leave because 'today I'm not up to my usual prog point' which matters. I'm pretty confident I'm exceptionally self depricating. But I dint know how else to be. And then I get slagged of for not clearing in 2-3 hours.
